Trade for a QB?

I'm down to send a 6th to bring in Howell - 3,946 yards in his season as a starter vs 2,877 and 2,402 from BY in his first 2. He needs to clean up his INTs and he takes too many sacks, but at least he can move the ball. Let DC do his QB whisperer thing on him and see how it goes. Worst case scenario you're not losing out on that much anyway.

Also, wouldn't mind bringing in Mariota, but I doubt the Commies would trade him. Daniels has been banged up somewhat regularly and MM has played well when needed. They could still potentially push for a playoff spot, so don't see them giving up a guy they may need to start at QB at some point. Quality backup QB play for a few games could be the difference between them making or missing the playoffs, so doesn't really make sense for them.

Let’s roll the dice on Kirk Cousins. They obviously aren’t playing him in Atlanta. If he plays good enough we have a QB for a few more years and avoid drafting another lost cause.

my god. im as negative of a fan as you will find, but this team is over .500 for the first time in 4 years. its been absolulely brutal being a fan of this franchise since 2019. is this really the time to complain about the quarterback and bash them for not having this figured out months ago? there is not a sane person in the wolrd who would have moved on from bryce after how he finished last steason going into his 3rd season. maybe it is just me, but ill go enjoy the 3 game winning streak.

A starving dog is thankful for table scraps too.  Yes, the winning streak is nice, but going from bottom dwellers to mediocre still isn't the long term solution.  Enjoy the now, but don't lose sight of the future.  Some of us know this is not a model that can sustain us forever nor deliver us a championship.  Teams will eventually lock down our rushing attack.  Our defense will lapse periodically.  There will be a time where we need a QB to play 'hero ball'.  We don't have that type of QB on this roster.

I'd love to get Howell, but I don't think the Eagles will trade him.  

The year he was with the Commanders wasn't bad considering their offensive line was crap.  I know many don't like him i just think he would be better and anyone we could get.

Winston is a pick machine and I'm not overly excited about getting him but Dalton is done.  He's immobile and seemed very undecided on his throws.   We were fortunate enough to get through yesterday's game without a L.

The idea that Jameis Winston is going to come in and play like a star and lead us to wins is ludacris. He's the 3rd fuging string for a 2-5 team and has played horrible for years now. Sure, passing numbers will go up but you'll also get a lot of dumb plays, pick 6's, and incompletions en route to a frustrating bad offensive performance, just in a different way.

I think these people are yearning for another Delhomme situation, and the odds of that happening are very very slim. It's way more likely Howell or Jameis comes in and looks like Jack Plummer or Andy Dalton did in the preseason. There just isn't that much good quarterbacking in this league right now. And if we draft another QB in the first round, there is a good chance they bust. It's not a guaranteed carrot.

The reality is, as mediocre as Bryce has been, the risk of bringing someone else in in-season and releasing Bryce becuase you aren't happy with his current performance is staggeringly high. Don't want to re-up his contract and search for a solution in the offseason? Sure, I'm on board. Bryce hasn't been good enough to warrant a second contract. But It is very. very unlikely that bringing someone else in midseason is going to give this team more wins.

I wouldn't release Bryce. Just throw a late round pick out and see what a different QB can do. It's low risk/high reward.

I don't see how you can say that Dalton is washed from a couple preseason games and a couple series yesterday.  I predict that he plays great this weekend.
