Seriously, all of this.

We're squeaking out wins against some of the worst teams in the league right now, and really on the backs of our defense and running game.  Making a few decent plays a game doesn't make for a good QB, it makes for someone who made a few good plays a game.

It's baffling to me how some people can still look at Bryce and think he can still be our long term solution.

Where guys are drafted means squat. XL has been terrible. 

I’ve seen this said now a few times and man it’s some terrible logic if you can even call it that. Spending money or draft capital doesn’t mean Jack if you whiff on what you spend it on. It’s crazy that even needs to be said.

Bryce is 10th in the league in Pass Attempts.

He is 21st in Passing Yards (and will still be passed by Penix, Stroud, and Mac Jones before this week is over)

He is last in passing yards among QB's to have started all 7 weeks so far this season.

Why do any fans seriously think he should even be in the discussion for our QB beyond this season?  

He's not going to become some MVP level playing QB the rest of this year.  At best, he's going to have just enough above average games to make you forget about the other way below average games and think he deserves yet another season as our QB, just like last year.

Those stats put him at the bottom of the league.

If not for a terrible jets offense, we would have lost today.

This team can’t win on Bryce’s arm. Slow the run game down, and the panthers O has nowhere to go.

The issue isn't the YPA, the issue is the reason why.

And it's because he can't consistently drive the ball downfield with accuracy and on time.  He has multiple throws every week that the average NFL QB is able to make 90% of the time, but he can't throw if he's not perfectly balanced and even when he is, he can't put enough drive on throws 20+ yards downfield to get them into windows before they close.

You can't win consistently or at a high level in today's NFL with a QB like that, and it's not something he'll ever be able to do unless he starts pumping himself full of all sorts of steroids and bulks way up.

3 tds (including rushing) to 1 int is a ratio you like? Won't even get into the many lost fumbles Bryce has had...

Bryce has been barely above replacement level in that stretch (if that)

A QB who can't consistently throw the ball 20 yards downfield has no business being a starting QB in this league.

That is a backup QB who you put in there to manage a game when your starter goes down.

#1 overall pick that plays like anything but that.  If Bryce was a mid-tier FA QB...say Samker Darnfield, his tail would have already been cut.  Bryce's sunken cost is why Tepper is determined to make him work. Dave is going to try to file down that square peg determined to make it fit in the round hole.  

Anyone that sees Bryce progressing beyond what he is now is just wearing rose colored glasses.  He's a low end-to-below average NFL QB.  This is pretty much his ceiling. Leaning heavily on a League best rushing attack and a defense that finally can stop opponents while generating takeaways.  Bryce's role now is to not screw it up.  Not the inspired QB play it takes to win more than a few games versus trash opponents nor eventually make noise in the postseason.

      okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.

      How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
