Rodgers and Stafford are HOF level players. Andy in his prime was an above average NFL starter but not in the discussion for being the best at his position like Rodgers and Stafford were.

Those 300+ yard performances are getting a lot fewer and far between for guys like Rodgers and Flacco too.

Just saying that I wouldn't expect a wild performance. Vinny also wasn't throwing for big numbers often after about his mid-30's.

Just saying it's not that crazy to expect even a 37 year old Dalton to be able to beat Bryce's average of roughly 170-180 passing yards a game

Yeah, you would hope. He did only average 197.8 in his five starts last season.

And Bryce's 2nd and 3rd best passing yardage marks this year is 199 and 198 yards.

Which in itself, is such a sad statistic.

Take away his 328 yard game and he's averaging 160 yards per game this season.  And for those who hate when you exclude specific games/things from stats, if you remove his high and low mark this season, he's still only averaging 168 yards per game.

That's your #1 overall pick in his 3rd season ladies and gentleman.

How is there actually people arguing that he can still be a good starting QB in this league, it's freaking nuts.

We're running the ball extremely well recently. Game flow doesn't need 300+ plus.

This board has really gone downhill into such a negative cesspool, its sad.

He's 10th in the league in pass attempts.

How we're running has absolutely zero bearing on him having the 10th most pass attempts in the league but being literally last in the NFL in passing yards (among QB's who have started all 7 weeks).

If this was Delhomme era Panthers, where we were also one of the lowest ranked teams in passes attempted, you'd have a legitimate case there, but that's the furthest thing from the case here.

There's two games left before the trade deadline. We needed this. We need to see Dalton out there while there's still time left on the clock.

I say this knowing full well that the Bryce stans are gonna be insufferable if (when) we lose. LOL

You're right but not sure where we can find a QB for trade at the moment.

Just looking at bottom dwellers that might be looking for draft capital... Dolphins have Tua, Raiders have Geno, Giants have Wilson and Winston (sounds like a really bad radio Zoo Crew team), is Arizona ready to give up on the Murray experiment? There are some second stringers floating around out there...

Didn’t really run great on Sunday.

Stats still right about there against a winless team, and that’s with the defense primarily selling out agains the run.

Plenty of bad balls and misses.

was at 117 yards when he left the game.

I hope Bryce is only out a week, we have a winning team and he had a chance to prove he can beat a team like the Bills or Packers. the team needs to completely evaluate him before making a contract decision. I can tell you they're already leaning towards picking up his option but this will muddy that evaluation process.

I also wish we drafted a late round rookie QB to come in instead of Dalton.

All I ask is to make the calls. If there's nothing available for the low price we should be willing to spend then it is what it is. But do the due diligence.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
