You're talking to the same guy that posted a thread after Rico's first 200 yard game insisting that it wasn't actually good because if you take out all his good runs he only averaged 3 yards per carry or something

Literally never one time said Rico getting 200 wasn't good, but sure, why let facts get in the way of the narrative you want to spin.

Go back and read the thread, I made it clear over and over again that I was talking about what I thought was poor play calling, because it was going to come back to haunt us against good teams.  As I gave Rico the credit for the big day because he ripped off a handful of big runs, but on the whole, it was very poor and predictable play calling that entire game.

Which is the same thing here but instead of the player overcoming it and having a big day because of a few extraordinary plays, they went the other way and crapped the bed.  It's the literal reason I started that thread, to call out the continuing issue that myself (and many others) have been seeing and talking about for a while.

That Canales has no idea what he's doing, everything is bland and predictable outside of his one surprisingly amazing play design/call per game (yesterday it was that 3rd and 5 run call for a 1st that nobody saw coming).

But too many people just jumped all over myself and others for not "just enjoy the win" and now we have to sit through games like this.  We've been sounding the alarm that this was coming for weeks, that our continues issues were going to rear their ugly head once we played the non worst teams in the league.

Anyone who is calling for Bryce to get a big fat $50m per year extension are high.  Look, anyone can see that Bryce is a mid level QB, who if he went to the right system would be pretty good.

Bryce does have some things going for him - the clutch play (sorry, not getting into the good QBs are never bad or put their teams in holes), his athleticism, and ability to make plays though not the big plays we want.  And he makes adult men go wild...lol y'all are obsessed.

Dalton played like poo.  Andy had some good throws, but his low points were just horrific.  Andy made a bunch of mistakes that the smart, vet backup shouldn't make.

If I'm being smart - I'm going to keep looking for QBs.  Bryce has not demonstrated that he's the answer.  He's far too inconsistent in his play (and his mid line is LOW).  Bryce knows how to play, how to do all the QB things but it's not showing on the field consistently at a high level.  Is that a Canales problem?  Yes.  He saw what Bryce did well last year when allowed to "cook" and brought Bryce back to a system that is not what Bryce is good at.

Look, I'd love for Bryce to put it all together.  He's still very young, but as a physical outlier in size, time is not on his side.  What happens to Bryce's game when he loses his athleticism?  He's not settling down like he should.  Then again, most young QBs are really struggling.

Dalton went out there and essentially….pulled a Bryce.

Was Dalton really any different than Bryce vs the Jags, Cards, Pats, Falcons, Jets, etc?

Only real differenceis the Bills are a really good team overall and when Dalton played like ass….they slammed the door on us.  They didn’t let us creep back in down 3 scores early like Bryce has done.  Or the Bills O wasn’t in a contest to try to out bad us.

we need a complete rehaul.  No one employed here should return

Im fully expecting Young to get extended and us being in QB purgatory hell for another 3-4 years after it. Its the panther way. Young is the pick that will keep on giving. When its all said and done, we will have about decade full of below average QB play ,assuming he stays healthy enough, for a guy we mortgaged everything for to select #1 overall.

not only extended panthers will make him one of the highest paid in the nfl thats a total panther way.

I'm not completely out on the front office at this point, but I'm not seeing much of a path for Canales to be a successful NFL Head Coach.

I’m largely talking QB room.

But yeah, Dave and Morgan too. Fitteter’s right hand man needed to go with him.   The pass he got is crazy.  He brought us this QB room.

We would have had to sit through that game no matter what. Like winter, it was coming.
As bad as Dalton was Bryce has matched him before. He has had some horrid games. And I don’t think he would have made a lot of difference against the Bills, honestly.

Bryce needs to play to prove me and most other people wrong; he can’t do it sitting down. And against good defenses and good teams not just the mirror images of our sorry asses. And if he doesn’t do it this year the people in charge are double fools if they give him more years.

You were making great sense to me until you accused Canales of bringing Beyce to a system that is not what Bryce is good at.
It was the system he ‘cooked’ in last year. With another 1st round WR to boot.
Bryce was good at college football on a team that had superior talent

Are we supposed to do that poo? Because it doesn’t work in tne NFL. He hasn’t made it work in the NFL after trying to play like he is still at Alabama for 2.5 years.

Bryce needs to play the NFL game. That is the job. Can he do it or not do it?

    • Ron's two seasons he took to figure it out would be massive successes compared to the 2018-Present period. Those 6 and 7 win seasons look pretty great now.  Do you honestly think he will jump up to a 10+ win year in 2026? That's what Ron did.
    • I disagree, a lot of people on here have said their opinions on signees, draftees, coaching hires, who to play etc and have made better decisions than the front office. Not saying they could run a team, but they seem to be better armchair GMs than our current regime the last 6 years.
    • You might want to look at that table again.  Round 2 has the least QB's taken in that time period. What is more interesting is how the "darts at a dart board" happens in the 6th and 7th round. Those are the 2nd and 3rd most frequently drafted rounds for NFL QB's.  If you are strictly using my criteria for "success" it does lend credence to that not being an awful strategy. At 17-21% chance to get a bare minimum of 30+ starts OR a 5+ year career. That's pretty good for a very throwaway pick. I don't know how that would compare to other positions. I would maybe have to adapt what I have done to something like PFR's Career AV to set a line that accomplished roughly the same result as I have from the spreadsheet. If I can get to a number value, applying this to each position wouldn't be that hard. Not sure how "fair" that is without making some adjustment based on averages for each position. I would have to do that as well, I think. A positional "handicap" of sorts.
