Because we run a very questionable cover 3 zone...

We stopped running it every play the second half and we looked much better on defense. It also help that we hurt Penix

Seattle kept Sherman on one side most of the time too. We also don’t have enough talent in pass rushing and secondary to just man up.

Not saying it’s what I’d do (because it’s not), but a lot of coaches like to do that so they can then double the elite WR and think doing those two in tandem will shut down a passing game as much as possible

Because we have a Boundary Corner and a Field Corner.

Much like we have a Left Tackle and a Right Tackle. Unless you expect the LT to shift around the OLine to always line up over their best pass rusher?

Boundary Corner. Harder Position. You cover less of the field (the shorter side to the “boundary”) but get less safety support so you’re often “on an island”. Asked to help with run support as well.

He's not bad just not the most athletic. For how he came to be our CB2 and the performances we've gotten out of him so far...we could be doing a lot worse.
