At the time this thread was made I thought it was a little sensationalist. Now…

People have genuinely ignored the fact that Horn is having a very underwhelming season overall. The INT's are way up but a lot of the other metrics have not been very kind. He has had a disappointing year overall by his standards.

Player gets new contract and doesn't play to the same level is hardly breaking news or needs a conspiracy. He bet on himself and won so now all he has to do is enough to keep the non-guaranteed money rolling in.

As for getting spanked by Olave it's just a bad matchup for him and a reality check. Maybe that would look a little better in another scheme?

Jackson has outplayed him when you consider passes defended and holding/pass interference calls. I think Jackson has 1 call against him while Horn has either 7 or 8 - and worse of all, they always seem to come on third downs.

I think the aggravating factors are how many long TD's Horn has allowed(team leading 6 TD's allowed) and also how bad his tackling has been(24.5% missed tackle percentage, 1st among starting players.

Overall, his QB rating allowed is good. His completion percentage when targeted is low and he is doing well in PD's.

Truthfully, Jackson has not been recognized for how great of a season he is having.

I'm not really into conspiracy theories. It may be more along the lines that we overvalue him and inflate his ability because of the logo, instead of some sort of nefarious character flaw.

We made him the highest paid DB in history 😂

He sold that whole drive following the penalty, too. Other big completion to JSN was his poor coverage, and then tried to give them a DPI in the end zone which we are fortunate the refs didn’t call otherwise SEA scores a TD instead of a FG.

He’s the son of a division rival. I’d be fine trading him to rot in that swamp like his father. We’ve got the 3rd highest paid corner in the league performing like a jag most of the season, and worse in the most critical games, and we’ll get the privilege of paying him a pro bowl bonus too since clearly nobody watches Panthers football if Jaycee Horn is in and Derrick Brown isn’t.

Also the fact that his blunders tend to be magnified because they tend to occur when we're competing in games we honestly probably shouldn't be. Getting burned or committing penalties in crucial situations is honestly starting to become quite the trend for him. It's criminal he's going to the Pro Bowl and Derrick Brown isn't.

    • This is what I mean. I am not some huge BY fan. I honestly don't look at QBs the way a lot of you guys do. Right or wrong, I've always looked at them as just another cog in the machine. Didn't want BY or even a trade up for a QB in 2023. We saw in the Super Bowl how important the rest of the team is on any given Sunday. Now... so PFF, who has no reason to prop up BY, says he's first in 2 stat lines and Panthers "fans" are arguing why it's either wrong or a made up stat just to make BY look good. Even though they have multiple stat lines where he's literally last in. Like 32nd in the NFL. Some he's even lower than 32. Take a step back. Try to objectively self analyze. This is just not sensible.  Same thing I see with other teams' fans and their QBs though. We analyze every single throw on every single play. For every other QB, most here are only using highlights to judge. Makes a difference. We saw Stafford miss throws when they played Carolina - both games. We saw Love throw crap up when they played Carolina. We saw Dak miss throws when they played Carolina - and Pickens was putting on a SHOW. We saw Josh Allen win a game with 163 yards passing against Carolina, but if BY does it he's crap and can't pass for 200 yards. Gents... come on.
    • None of us think we're contenders this season but no reason we're doomed to 5 or 6 wins either. Dan has to have another 2025- like draft class and at least 2 key free agent signings. We're not Seattle but they don't win without 5 starters from their last 2 draft classes and Darnold and Lawrence in free agency.  Alas,  we'll have to wait one more season for a QB upgrade.
