Coker has been really good and I really enjoy watching him play. He’s strong to the ball and makes those contested catches on crucial downs. He’s save our tails more times than I can count this year. And seems like a perfect compliment to TMac. If we can get Jimmy more involved I think this trio could be good going forward if we get a Qb that can be aggressive down the field and an OC that ain’t scared to feed them.

👀 zero drops is crazy

Have you seen the size of his hands? Its even noticeable on the field when hes running routes, dude has catchers mitts. Him and Tmac could be a deadly combo if we had a QB that could do the forward pass.

To be fair on the drops, Chase, JSN and Puka have a poo load more targets. If Coker had that many chances are he'd have a few as well.

That seems like truth, but still. No drops is no drops. Like I said elsewhere call Vegas let’s get a pool for when he will drop a ball.

at this point, I just pretend Coker is who the panthers took 32nd overall and XL is the UDFA

And I think that’s fair. Or the way you want it. It is a cumulative endeavor. Miss on one, that is fine if you hit on another. Even if it is in a later round.

This seems like it should be obvious but what this season has taught me is First Principles. Simplicity.

What really impressed me about both TMac and Coker is first and foremost, they catch the goddamn ball. And more importantly, they both make that look EASY. They catch the ball the way a dog snags a Frisbee. It's just natural. Everything else is secondary. I don't care about your 40 speed, your route running, your college stats. I want to see you pick the ball out of the air like an apple off a tree.

XL can do a lot, he has the size, speed and physique. But I'm always so baffled how he can make a routine reception look like a circus catch. Catching doesn't seem natural to him.

And it's the same story on the defense. I just want to see someone who can fuging TACKLE! We got so many guys leading with their shoulders. Looking to hit the truck stick. But then they just completely whiff.

So that's what I'm hoping to see us focus on going forward. Follow the example of Coker and TMac and find guys who first and foremost are fundamentally sound. The rest will all fall into place.
