Rico Dowdle sounds like he’s gone

Recommended Posts

His production dropped off after he won the job. He padded his stats against some bad defenses and I think Chuba was hurt to start the season which impacted him early.

Let him go. Draft another RB in the middle to late rounds to mix in with Hubbard, Brooks, Etienne

Or see if we can get a deal on a young FA. Breece Hall, Tyler Allgeier, Pacheco, Sean Tucker, Javonte Williams, Jerome Ford, and a bunch of others are all free agents this year.

I really hate it when he has an attitude like we did him dirty or something. He was given an opportunity, he made himself some money and we had a great season. His performance dwindled down the stretch and anyone with two eyes could see it. It comes across very me centered rather than being a team player. Chubba never complained once throughout the season.

I like the guy but sorry, what team is going to sign him and give him more carries than what he probably would have here? If Chuba gets hurt then he’s getting those reps. Personally I think Etienne will be a solid back up for us who could end up being a starter. He’s a solid player all around. We still have Brooks too who still has a chance of being a good Rb despite injuries. We’ve seen players come back from worse. The odds might be low but there’s still a chance. If our offensive line is good then  having a good RB isn’t a big deal. Honestly I would just use the money on another position. I’m fine with Chuba, Etienne and brooks. We can always draft a rb in later rounds or UDFA. It’s an easy position to fill.

I like Rico, but there was a clear drop off after Chuba healed up.  It wasn’t that he wasn’t producing anymore bc he wasn’t getting the carries, bc several games down the stretch I kept asking myself, “why is Rico in there when he looks slow and banged up?” and Canales kept giving him the ball at expense of Chuba’s carries.  He wasn’t never the same after he was on the injury report.  The big rushing games he had, you could see he had the juice from the first touch.  That juice wasn’t there anymore down the stretch, so making him the featured back getting the bulk of the carries wouldn’t have made his production any better.  I like him but we have Chuba and two young guys in Etienne, who always looks explosive (but please get him off punt returns lol), and Brooks coming back, so best of luck Rico.

It’s a really good free agent class for running backs this year so good luck to Rico. I hope we can replace him with Isaiah Pacheco.

There are some really good options that are on the FA list at the moment. I wouldn't mind getting Algiers as a change-up bruiser. Gainwell is also on the list and has value in the passing game as well.

Give me Tyler Allegeier, he’s money in short yardage and has no fumbles in four years (737 touches). I don’t think his cost would be too high.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
