I’m not falling for the trap again, I will say I’m leaning more towards being more critical of canales than Bryce but still a long term deal shouldn’t even be a discussion

I will say I’m the slightest bit optimistic that canales is the bigger problem, since when Coker gets more snaps than xl Bryce doesn’t seem to have as many issues, and canales for whatever reason, just seems reluctant to put the best players on the field and in position, this was a theme all year for him

I have a feelin that Canales is being forced to play them.

a weak Qb room lessens the demand for Bryce Young to perform at a high level instead its more about progress & development & it also allows Bryce Young to get all the first team reps in practice & not be distracted by the possibilty of sharing reps with another Qb .it does alot more than that but my point being is that i believe Dan Morgan is fully committed to developing Bryce Young into the franchise Qb & will once again intentionally create a weak Qb room ..just saying

I completely understand that. And if they put the weak room in place we are never gonna have anyone but him. Oh boy.

Here is the obligatory yes I know he has had some good games and made some good plays. I don’t believe though.

Regarding the early games, it will help a lot if we have some consistency in the receiving corps.  In the early part of this season, his best receiver was a rookie, his go to guy (Thielen) went to another team, and if memory serves, Sanders and Coker were injured.  And Leggette has some issues.

I think some of you greatly under estimate how important familarity and being in sync with receivers can be for a QB.

His QBR for the first 8 games of the season 45.8, his qbr for the last 8 games 50.1....byoung is byoung beginning or end of the year he is who he is.

Evero, Canales, Bryce all tied together through at least next year. Honestly, it’s one of the smarter things Tepper has done.

it gives you the opportunity to see if this squad can continue to grow before making any extension decisions.

If next year bombs out, you have a pretty easy reset with a fresh staff, a high pick, a talented roster, and no qb crippling contract.

Exactly where I’m at with it. My only issue is, let’s say he improves to a top ten season next year, he then gets top ten money. Can he stay at a top ten level? That’s where I have trouble giving him an extension.

There is only one thing guaranteed in life......  and that is that, at the end, we all die.....

5th year was earned (barely). That first place schedule will remove all doubt either way. Im betting on a new QB in '27

We played three division winners, along with wildcard teams Buffalo, San Francisco, Green Bay and Los Angeles.  I doubt the schedule would be much tougher next year.  The division might be though.

right now is actually the perfect time to trade Bryce Young while he is still on a rookie deal

recover some of your losses & move on to much bigger & better things

if not , you are just going to continue making an already bad situation worse ...just saying

I'll feel a lot better if we draft a guy (even in the 7th round) and/or sign a different backup.  I don't really care that they bring Bryce back next year.  I get it from their perspective.

The 25 million in year 5 won't be that hard to swallow if we end up acquiring someone cheap that beats him out.
