This same author had Seattle at 31st last year in free agency. Having him rank you low is a good thing.

I feel like we should wait for results before crowing Morgan or ranking things like this but I guess we aren’t in that kind of era.

I mean, of course Id love to see 22 per with lower guarantees, just unlike last year with Milton, Panthers had to bring that pats like offer. He seems to be a great fit and I was shocked at his size, same Lloyd during the visit. Both were tall and wide. 

Wait and see with him, stay healthy and help the Panthers win...

It's 3 years, 90m with 8.75m dead cap in year four.

Well, you can call it something else. Preliminary rankings. People are going to react. 
I remember years of ‘Panthers will not be active in the first wave of FA’ where we had nothing to rank. 
Now  that we are moving and shaking people get excited. Especially when the GM performs as if the fan base has directed him. Most wanted pass rush, ILB and to fill the Icky hole with at least something. It all got done.

I went to ESPN so I could read the entire article. Outside of the list of total players acquired at the top, Devin Lloyd wasn't mentioned in the piece.

Last year our O-line was fairly solid. The pass blocked well enough for Bryce to throw over 20 TDs and 3,000 yards; and blocked well enough to produce a 1,000 yard rusher (Rico).

Outside of our weak pass rush, our weakest area on the team was ILB. We fill that position with one of the most talented players in the NFL and he doesn't even warrant a mention .

Instead the writer gushes over a 1 yr acquisition at LT who they even admit is not a perfect player. Whatever.

Brother so long as LLoyd is healthy I KNOWN he will improve the LB and defense. Phillips have a positive impact too, *health needs to remain good. Walker WILL be better than stone or any other choice to play LT. You don't need wait, trust me....

Those 3 to borrow a baseball term, they have high WAR rating.

over the years I have really lost a lot of respect for Solak. He used to be a great with good breakdowns and had great draft coverage. Now he's become an ESPN talking head w/ obvious biases which are annoying

Reading the article, this seems to be purely a ranking on who got the most bang for their buck in free agency. Using his system, getting a swing OT or nickle corner at half of their projected value is better than getting the number 1 overall free agent at market value. It's a pretty useless list.

And even by that metric, he undervalues the Panthers. Pretty much everyone agrees that we got Walker (to a massive extent) and Lloyd at significantly lower contracts than projected. So it basically boils down to him really being floored by the value of Phillips' contract, then adding the caveat that, well it's basically a 2 year committment for the most coveted free agent edge defender who's entering his prime.
