ATLANTA: This won't be easy

Going into Atlanta against a team that hates us and we hate them.

Some think Atlanta is going to cruise into the off-season and give a half hearted performance.

Atlanta is not going to roll over for us.  They have a few more weapons then the last time we played them and it is in their house.  We are playing for the #2 and possibly the #1 seed.   I think they are going to be as motivated as ever to put us in a wildcard position.

I will say that I don't see a let down from our defense, seems they haven't forgotten 2012 trip to Atlanta. The defense is playing lights out and our offense is a bit banged up.  Smitty is out and Hixon is going to have to step up and make the plays Smitty does.

Make no mistake the Dirty Birds are going to be motivated.   We are in the playoffs, lets keep the #2 slot and KICK THEIR ASS.

Get er done Carolina.

Go Panthers

yeah but do they hate carolina more than the taints? ATL loses, carolina is the division winner, ATl wins, the Saints are the division winner.

I'm sure they want to win more than they care about who they dislike more.

Going to Atlanta for the last game, after they lose a heart breaker on Monday night, with the division in the line when they can play spoiler? Easy this will not be!

They are going to give us everything they have because their season is over after Sunday. They will want us to remember it...

Yeah, there's no doubt that this isn't going to be a pushover game, but then again, there aren't many, if any, in the NFL. It is a game that I think we can win. Although, some may differ with my opinion, but I think that without Steve Smith, it will be a little harder. Atlanta's defense can scheme against us, totatly different now. They may play man press on our WR's and blitz Cam all day. We will have to be able to adapt during the game, like any other game, and take what the defense gives us. I want the NFC South Title! Bring it home Panthers...

After week 3, we have been slamming the hell out of bad teams all year, just like any good team should do.

Yes Atlanta is a division rival and yes Atlanta should not be taken lightly, just like any team in the NFL.

However, this is not the Panthers we are accustomed to from years past.

This team is not the team we are used to seeing, that drops a big turd when needing the wins or big plays the most.

My mantra all year. atl. is not a very good team. We are a very good team. We win 24-10.

IF, they can protect matty, they may put up a fight. Otherwise, they dink and dunk their way to a loss. The ONLY way we lose this game is if we lay an egg. That ain't gonna happen.

Confident? YES! So fuggin' what. Their defense is still a mess.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
