I slept on it, and I'm now OK with it, here's why

I get it now. It makes sense for why we took him.

He was the highest graded player on the board and we grabbed him, but for whatever reason, I didn't understand why that was last night. He is so damn raw, I just didn't understand how he'd be able to make an immediate impact.

I forgot he was a giant.

This dude is HUGE, and anyone his size, is always open. Even if he is raw in his routes and shaky with his hands, he is an immediate redzone asset. He provides us with a big target to score touchdowns when we get close to the goal line, something we haven't had since pretty much ever. At this stage in his career, he doesn't need to know the route tree like guys that are 6' or under. he doesn't have to be shifty like the smaller receivers. All he has to do is work on his hands, and catch anything thrown near him, and he can produce right away. Not many corners are going to be able to knock him off his routes, he's just too big, and good luck tackling him when he gets a full head of steam.

If he can put everything else together, then I think we just got our Jimmy Graham. At least I hope so. Now all we need is another young guy to develop along with him, and looking at the talent still available at WR, I don't think we will have that issue.

More similar to a Ramses Barden imo. Tall long guy with poor-average vert and questionable speed.

Calvin Johnson's vertical was only 2.5" higher.

Joe Adams, Stephen Hill, Marvin McNutt, and AJ Jenkins all had higher verts.

As for speed: http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/super_bowl_blog/posts/45101-fitzgerald-boldin-prove-how-stupid-40-yard-dash-is

Now shut your bitch ass up and buy a KB jersey!

Huh, Calvin's vert is nearly 10 inches higher at 41'

There's a lot to be excited about and a lot to be nervous about. Nothing wrong with that, he is raw.

A couple things:

1. His comments about lacking motivation. Our very own Star quit football for a year. Remember that.

2. We have a technition as our wr coach

3. Cam, cam and cam. Cam is kbs favorite qb. Cam is now the leader of this offense. Kb will look up to cam and won't wanna disappoint him.

And 4. Kbs is a red zone target immediately. He can make an impact immediately in this regard. Let's see if this kid will put in the work. I have a feeling he will especially with avant and cotchery as mentors in that room.

Anyone saying we just drafted a bust or drafted megatron light right now are being premature. Let's see if this kid has the determination, motivation and talent to be an elite receiver because he has all the tools, all the great coaching, and some amazing mentors to learn from.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
