Amazing draft

We entered this draft with a terrible WR corp and O-line (1 guard, no tackles) and a mediocre secondary. We have tens of millions invested at RB and DE.

We draft 1 receiver, 1 OG, two secondary players, an end, and a back. Looks like those mythical draft receivers and lineman you Gettlefans were talking about after we ran our WRs out of town didn't exist, nor did double-dipping. The draft has come and gone and we only devoted 1/3 of it towards our worst positions - the same percent we devoted to our highest-paid spots.

 

 

I bet the first NFL team you manage is going straight to the Super Bowl.

I like the Benjamin pick, Turner, Ealy, and Benwikere. Thats about 4 good picks some im good. Think those guys can make a difference.

Well you are right but what you are missing is GMAN is not looking at competing for a Superbowl next year......this draft is for for fixing our cap so we can be in a position to be great in the future. 

 

Why would we cut Smitty and why would we draft a project at WR.....and a DE in the 2nd if we were in a win now mode?

Lol. At least Hurney turned 1-15 to 11-5. Getts looks to turn 12-4 to 5-11.

Gettleman turned 7-9 to 12-4

I have a feeling we are gonna get some quality UDFA players, and also some quality players after they get cut from teams lowering their squad to 53. That's how we got Dwan Edwards. Getts does a good job of finding talent where most people dont even think to look. Wait til Sept. to make your decision about how the roster looks. And as far as the draft, we will see during the season.

I thought it was a really good draft for the Panthers. Then again, I didn't expect an OT to be drafted by the team. I figured it would be Wr, CB, DE and possibly a guard depending on how KBG was coming along.

So, for quite some time the Huddle complained that we did not have a football guy running things.  Now our guy running things is so much a football guy that I am sure that his bloood cells, instead of being round....are actually football shaped. (And Panther blue of course.)

 

Last year went ok. I know that in the past that meant that the next year was terrible.  But, news flash...we are not living in the past.

 

Question...how long do the experts ay it is before you can judge a draft?  Here it looks like 3 min.

 

I'll wait.  Going to trust until evidence say I can't.  One thing I would bet on....there was not anyone who knew more about the players than Gmen.

 

Guys, cut the drama.  Let's see how this plays out.

drafted borderlined sucked.............look at the nfc south each one got miles better talent wise......and we added maybe 2 guys who will make a impact on the offensive side of the ball.

Other than at the Tackle position, we are better team than last year.

 

Unless we somehow got a top 5 pick that was an impossible proposition in this draft. There was nobody available better than what we had last year.

I equate this Draft to someone offering you $1000 that you can't use for a year or $500 that you can use now. If you wait it out and are patient, you'll be much better with the 1000 in the future.
