CB Teddy Williams Signs With Panthers

Did some research and found out Michael Bates, our special teams ace in the '90s and bronze medalist in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics 200 meter race, also competed in 100 meter races and his personal best in that event was 10.17 seconds.

This Teddy Williams kid also competed in 100 meter with a best time of 9.90 seconds.

Give the kid a chance. World class speed (literally world class!) so let's see what our coaches can do with him. Special teams this year, next year some CB or WR, re-sign and then 3rd year give him significant snaps if he's grasped the schemes we use.

4.31 forty yard dash

An obvious #4/5 CB

Underwood was signed to a two year deal and was cut. So before some of you explode with criticism of DG, take that into consideration

As rum says down there, good size. Hes very fast

To bad this is not a track team

On the bright side, this should technically remove all of the worry with signing Jarrett Boykin, right?

Looks like DG was looking to help our ST unit and this helps a lot. Add the LB from MIN on a cheap deal, and the trio of Teddy G, Teddy W and Gachkar improves this unit big time.

I believe we will still try to sign Gachkar after all he can really help our special teams and can play all linebacker spots. We need linebacker depth so we could kill two birds with one stone by signing Gachkar.

ST coach(dehaven) MUST have demanded him, I mean the panthers did need a gunner or two. I did notice collin jones ST play fell off once he started getting all the nickle snaps.

I'll state this as well- I'm not saying ginn is some huge game changer, but I'm 99.98658 % sure if he was on the past season roster and healthy. No way panthers have a losing record.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
