As far as running at us.  The Gore style RBs are the ones we always seem to contain.  It is the speeder RBs we tend to bottle up and allow the one or two big runs that always throw are defensive efforts out of whack 

Pressure up the middle is definitely the best way to get after Cam. That's why they said they should run(A-gap) blitz. Up the middle pressure is when he starts back-footing really high throws and and tries to back out of the pocket and can take huge losses if he gets sacked. Luckily the middle is exactly where the strength of our line is located and their LB's are garbage so I don't expect much at all from them if they do try to come at him from there.

This isn't about what Colts fans are saying... but an interesting stat from Peter King about why Panthers should win tonight.   I wasn't really seeing another gameday thread where I could post this...

well, the Kalil lose will be interesting.  Both in pass and run.  Stewart had also been doing a lot of underrated dirty work running behind the C/G.

Everyone in that building is accustomed to having their taints licked by everyone else...well other than the owner.  Just a hunch, I think that they come out slinging it to try to get a lead and make us throw more than we want.

no doubt. luckily the rain is supposed to hit the hardest early on, so hopefully they'll fug up royally and we'll get a turnover or six

They won't be able to run against us. Gore is not his old self, and even his old self would still struggle to run on us. Their Offensive line is also suspect. This means Luck will be slinging it. Yes he's struggled this year, But Andrew Luck is a good quarterback and capable of big games. we need to respect that. can't give him all day to throw so i think the pressure from our Dline will make him dance around and throw inaccurate passes. Hilton will be neutralized by Norman. He'll start trying to force things and this is where i see us getting a few turnovers. Our Offense will be fine. it's already much better than advertised. they have no defense. 31-17 panthers.

I think the Panthers would be ok with this. Our whole gameplan usually revolves around stopping the run and forcing the pass.  There defense will be the reason the Panthers win, they are going to have to control Cam and our run game. That's not going to happen.

      Possible, he is physical and a forchecker but not a needle mover, but i wouldnt mind it, although I think we have enough 4th line grinders right now between Carrier Robinson and Janakowski  down there, i actually really love our 4th line.            We need scoring in the top 6, and a RHD at this point its definitely coming via trade.            Rasmus Andersson I hear may be on the market, it feels like every couple of seasons someone links us to Erik Karlsson.       As far as centers go,  Marco Rossi (even though we have a ton of smurf already)     Jordan Kyrou is an intriguing option if he is available.           At this point i think Rod should just move Jarvis to his natural center position to give us a 1B center...   yes hes also a smurf but he plays way bigger than he is stylistically.

      The problem with these summary stats and rankings is that they flatten out progression and assume an even performance throughout the year. His first 3 or 4 games of the season don't really tell you anything about his current level of capacity but more about where he started and what his floor was last year. Given his last several games were against playoff teams, that gives you an idea of his current ability coming into the season. But it will serve more as a floor than a ceiling given the upgrade in talent on offense. And a better defense should give us more stops which results in shorter fields and more opportunities. And going into his third year there is no reason to suspect he will regress. His success wasn't  based on being superhuman but being smart and taking what was the defense was giving him. Distributing to the other guys not trying to do it on his own. He was great at the end when pressured and consistently moved the ball. That makes him a great game manager which is what we need. Something that is easier to do and relies on everyone else rather than having to be a top physical specimen or do it on his own. No one can predict the future but to say we haven't improved much is crazy given just having the Browns anchoring the defensive line will shut down the run and make sure QBs won't be stepping up in the pocket.  Assuming Evero got the message to can the prevent defense and bend until you break philosophy.
