The Panthers made safety L.J. McCray their 14th player signed to a futures contract. The Charlotte, North Carolina native spent the 2014 and '15 seasons with San Francisco. His 2015 season was ended by a knee injury and he did not play last season.

I agree with everything except for the part I quoted.  I've personally seen JR riding around the tailgates just this year.  Plus, 2005 was 12 years ago.  He's 80 and has had a heart transplant since then.  I think we can cut him some slack on that part.

That's only a very minor part of it and you know that. And I'm not limiting nor demanding JR get his ass out there. What about Morrison? Used to see him out and about, too.

Stop being so literal and understand the context.

I've seen Mr. Morrison out quite a bit, actually. He spent two hours at our night before party in Denver. He came through and said hello in Tampa this year - even sent me an email saying how awesome it was seeing so much blue sitting together. He still walks around with his Bojangles cup.

Okay...you typed it and I responded to it.  I think I understood the context clearly because I even said I agreed with you on everything except that one part.  There's no reason to get defensive.  I wasn't trying to argue.

I know we have our problems with our FO, but what major sports team doesn't?  We were a young team back then so of course they wanted to build relations with the public.  I guess I just get tired of everyone shitting on our FO.  I still think our relationship with the organization as a whole is far superior then others.  There are many Huddlers that, in my opinion, create this faux war between the FO and us and I don't think that's entirely fair.  Comments like, "JR is an NFL guy!", "Why does he have the shield?", "He never goes out to tailgates anymore" don't help the relationship.  Sure, we all would have liked for him to stand up for Cam, but what owner has ever really done such a thing?  The ramifications are too high.  Sucks, but that's how it is.

Every day at training camp Danny would walk the fence and talk to hundreds of fans.

I can attest to this as well. I feel like I've seen Danny Morrison at least five times this year at games. He is usually out walking around about 2 hours prior to kickoff.

The thing I like best about Voth is his objective reporting while at the same time appearing to be a local writer with inside information - at least it has that appearance.  I will miss his site if he signs off as he is my number 2 go to source of Panthers news next to this one and many times this one has posters just reposting things Voth has on site.  I think maybe he simply needs some salesmanship/marketing  help with getting paid for for his website hits.  god knows the Igo has no problem with popup ads here, and as annoying as they are, I know they pay to keep the lights on.

The site was good, and like I said was a GREAT idea. Voth tended to be very sensitive. If someone said anything on Twitter that was criticism, he made sure to answer and be passive aggressive back. I remember he spent about over a week trying to discredit a PanthersNews Twitter account which literally linked Panther news to their articles. It was quite embarrassing to watch. You could tell that the kid running the account had to be in like high school, and Voth was trying to intimidate him.

There were also a lot of articles that he just posted for shameless clicks. One that pops up in my head was last week how he posted an article with quotes from upcoming Panther free agents. It was literally a link that contained 5 quotes with no insight whatsoever. There was another where he just posted a list of the upcoming Panther free agents with no analysis. And I'm not gonna go into the the 20 minute Gettleman interview that he dragged out into a 5 day process. By Frirday I didn't even care what Gettleman had to say anymore.

Finally, I couldn't stand how he argued with fans how it was imperative that he leak the draft picks on Twitter before they were announced. He was very condescending how those fans don't work in the media. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

The reason I am so tough with the criticism is because the site had so much potential. Person and Newton are as bad as it gets. There isn't a fan base in the world that deserves those two. If the site comes back I hope he makes some tweaks, because he did have a lot of great stuff. The snap counts from each game was great. His training camp coverage was by far the best. We will see how it turns out.

Welp since the 2016 season was vastly different than the 2015, you know for a fact that took away a huge portion of clicks. Hate to admit, but I nearly stopped going to BBR. The main reason I went was for the snap counts, that was once a week tops. Seem bill had no content for whatever reason. Just like others take a few quotes form a press conference, add your opinion and wal-la.... I mean watching the videos on panthers.com and theres no need to read ESPN, observer, and even BBR.

Busniess model that is mainly your Interwebz web-site, that bubble popped long ago. Short story-many moons ago knew a guy in highschool the werid, smart, and nerdy type. Well he made a couple websites form scratch, coding and all. That's when you had to really know a few things and it took lots of time. Well he started making bank, within a few weeks he was making more than the teachers. His websites where a weebs dream, he even got a few large offers for his domains. I forget most of the details, but he was getting thousands of clicks daily when that was a huge number. Then the game changed, new websites(bu-bye traffic) popped up, the ad revenue(bu-bye $$$)changed, and people installed ad-blocker(dream is dead). In a mere two weeks his empire was all gone.

So I have a understanding of how it is rubbing tenths of pennies together trying to turn a website into a profit. Honestly it's like any business now-a-days, breaking even takes miracles. Basically you need a money person, that's willing to take a loss. The old racing qliche "start out with a lot to make a little". You got to ride that wave and it has to last longer than a magical 15-1 season with great quote machines.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
