Why Does the League, and Seemingly the World Hate Us?

I’ve seen plenty of fans that believe the league is against them, you’re not alone

I know any fan base could feel that way at any given point in time, especially if they feel they got robbed by a bad call or something of the like...  the Lions loss to the Falcons earlier in the season comes to mind.  But, that's one call.  In our case, as I said, we're talking about essentially a four year stretch of blatant attempts to keep us from reaching our full potential.

We have our faults and flaws, but the coverage we get nationally is only negative and again, outside of maybe the Patriots games, the officiating seemingly is always against us, especially in big spots.  I watch other teams and other games, including games where I'm pulling for one team over another, and I don't see the stuff happening in those games that happens to us.

8People hate Cam Newton. I was talking to my wife's nephew's mother-in-law,  and she called Cam an "asshole" and said that he says bad things about women.  I advised her that he said one questionable thing to a female reporter that was way overblown.  She said that Can is arrogant.  I asked her what professional football player is without a measure of arrogance?  I told her that Brady was arrogant. She had nothing to say.   I also cited some of the things he has done in the community.  She still said he is an asshole. She had been drinking,  but still.  I told her that she was just spewing media driven negativity about Cam.

Not that it's necessarily relevant per se, but my wife's nephew is in an interracial marriage.

There was no way in hell the NFL wanted the Panthers to win a Lombardi with the scandal hanging over JR's head.

The NFL let Patriots win a SB with a cheating scandal. The NFL let Aints win a SB with a Headhunting scandal. Why single us out like that because this deal with JR is nothing compared to those 2 teams I mentioned but is still a serious problem with the JR scandal. Why are Pats and Aints so different when their infractions weren't any better.

Perception is not always reality. I challenge you to find a fan base that feels any different. Dont say the Patriots because they will pull up the gates and what not. It's an odd phenomena how emotions skew senses of reality. Officiating is terrible and inconsistent, all teams deal with it. I do believe this league is not always played out by chance.

People hate Cam Newton. That is the only reason people want to see us fail

This, and that really is the biggest reason. I am not one to play the race card, but it seems like fans expect black QBs to be humble and quiet (aka Wilson), and when they aren't, people will hate them. Cam is a kid a heart and has fun on the field, and that seems to piss everyone off.

The officiating was awful from the beginning. I can’t remember the WR, think it was Funchess but I’m not sure, getting mugged on our first drive ending the drive resulting in a missed fg, 2 or 3 other blatant DPIs missed throughout the game, TD getting held and spun around on an important 1st down run for the saints, the bogus grounding call (visual proof has been provided he was out of the tackle box, unless the tackle is 2018 Jeff Otah), no rtp call on the hit when cam’s eye got poked by the visor, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few

We danced and dabbed all over everybody in 2015. Teams, players and fan bases don’t forget it.

Embrace the hate. I’d rather be hated by our rivals and the rest of the country than be pitied and laughed at like the other bottom dwellers.
