I'm not as down on Matt as everyone here seems to be.  He struggled mightily at times early in the season but he did manage to show progress as the season went on.  He will do for another season until a better option presents itself.  Got to sign Norwell though because he's worth the investment.  I just wish it wasn't Hurney that was going to sign that contact.

Recency bias. Matt got manhandled by Cam Jordan.

Meh, it happens to the best of them.   He held his own for the most part.  I look at it this way.  He's hardly played any football in a couple of years due to injury and as this was his first real healthy season I'll cut him some slack.  Next year however he better earn that salary or I'll be screaming to put Moron over there.

We can't run the ball because the scheme is FUBAR.  They can blame the players all they want but our run game is the most predictable and antiquated in the league.  Don't listen to those mouth breathing commentators during the game.  Shula's run game is a joke.

I 100% agree with you, but do you think that Hurney knows enough about the X's and O's to know that's the problem?

This is now a family environment...Ron, Hurn, and Shula all holding hands knowing that they are safe and sound.

Our problem is absolutely scheme, and during the fist half of the season, teams knew that Cam couldn't throw...guessing next year should be much better.

P.S. I think that we are plenty capable at RB with CAP and CMC, maybe grab some depth in the draft late.

We actually don't have a ton of depth at the NT/DT/UT position. Short, Butler and Love are the only ones under contract.

Vita Vea probably doesn't make it to 24 but heres a look at Star's replacement if he falls in the draft. The writing is from a Cowboy's needs prospective but it fits for Carolina as well.

If we use another top 2 pick on a DT, I'll blow a gasket. I get that we'd need to replace Star, but I'd rather find a vet to do that. For fug's sake, drafting a DT with our #1 pick this year would mean we'd have spent 3 firsts and a 2nd on DTs within the past 5 years. Time to address other way more pressing positions.

Gettleman is in charge. DT is the most important position

Their first pick is probably gonna be a QB.  Not the best situation to stick a guy in there as a rookie to get steamrolled every other down.

You can not drop big money on 2 players at the same position (relative ie DT).

Pay one and draft the other.

Bulter is without question going to slide into Star's spot if Star leaves.

I disagree with this statement. You drop most of the money on the QB, DL, and OL. You can go cheaper on other positions but those are the most impactful positions.

Indeed. Same holds true with Norwell. We have both Kalil's and Trai Turner making big $. Also, Daryl Williams has developed into an excellent RT.

Both Star and Norwell will leave this offseason

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
