CarolinaHuddle Pick'em - Week 14

UpstatePanther

Recommended Posts

Yeah sorry about the late post guys. With the demoralizing loss the Panthers had and family in town, I just couldn’t get around to it until now. Here we go...

SCOREBOARD:

WEEKLY WINNER: @bigdavis, 11/16, .688 (+1), MNF Guess: 41  (Actual: 41)

T-2) 11/16, .688

T-3) 10/16, .625

T-4) 9/16, .563

T-5) 8/16, .500

No Picks: @PntherPryd, @Khyber53

LEADERBOARD:

After a six-way tie for first, @bigdavis continues his surge by winning on the MNF tiebreaker! Not only that, he opens up an effective 4-point lead on the closest challenger with his TWO weekly wins. Congrats!

No locks/upsets this week. I’m pressed for time. Good luck this week everyone!

    • There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”
    • If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
