Is Donte Jackson a “head case”?

Listening to WFNZ this morning. Didn’t hear the entire conversation but it sounded like they were reacting to the All of Nothing series where Donte seemed(haven’t seen the whole thing yet) to be acting like he was un-coachable and didn’t want to take advice from vet players. 

Someone said he has come out and stated that he was made to look like someone he isn’t on the series.

Anyone have any insight on this?

He seemed to be a bit immature at times from what they showed, but if he can take coaching and constructive criticism, he may finish as one of the best. He is a very likeable dude, no doubt.

He complained some, but in the end he listened and set back. Sounds good for a 22 year old...

He is young and was a rookie. He learned not only technique but how to use coaching as well. There is nothing wrong with him. This is what you often get with rookies. Another reason I like proven vets as starters who have already gone through this. Jackson should make a lot of progress between last year and this.

I have been in a similiar situation in my career as D-jax was portrayed. My language may have not been the same but my body language was much similiar. I can empathize with the kid.

It didnt take long for me to understand that to be better I had to approach situations differently, and accept feedback. I dont think this is different from many, just part of the growing process.

 

Head case.... no. Passionate player who wants to be great, and is learning that it doesnt happen over night.... yes.

Was just listening while at the gym and Donte will be doing an interview with WFNZ to address this exact thing at 1:30p if you are able to tune in.

A lot of people would have considered Steve Smith and Josh Norman to be "head cases". 

A lot of talented people have egos that have to be managed. I'm sure NFL coaches are well aware of that and accustomed to it.

Do I think he is a head case.  Yes.  But that’s not the end of the world.  I have played with some head cases that can play well. But others that seem to never attain the excellence they see in their own minds.  Let’s hope he can take some mentor ship.  

And that Fewell can have a positive influence.

Not reacting to coaches makes you "uncoachable."
