He hasn't saved his job yet. If we completely flop down the stretch again he's probably gone regardless of who is taking snaps.

This same old crap again? Ron is coaching lights out and has the whole team playing together and playing to win. He's strung together four good wins while we have tons of starters (and some backups) going onto the injury report or IR. And, because someone will take a swing at him too, Marty Hurney has got us some great personnel that have brought this together.

Go peddle your tired narrative somewhere else. We're winning.

Ron winning without the benefit of Cam has likely helped cool the hot seat for the moment.

However there are still a lot of games to be played.

If the Panthers make the playoffs with a backup QB chances are Ron and Hurney will be returning for 2020.

If the Panthers win at least 1 playoff game, Ron is a lock to return.

Playoffs or bust was certainly a popular thought going into the season, but now I'm not so sure. 

You're right about the NFC looking strong. The only team getting in from the NFC East is the division winner. It looks like its down to us and the Saints for the South. The West looks like SEA and SF, but don't count out LAR just yet. NFC North has the Packers out front but all four teams are over .500. Its going to be wild ride for the Wildcard, and a win over SF helps our cause obviously.

Due to his own biases he will always be a coach that requires injuries to give younger guys chances at starting.

Is that who we want driving our team for another 5 years? Because I'm getting to the point where I don't.

Ron may have a 'defensive pedigree' but we've never had a #1 defense while he's been here and right now while our defensive line is getting to the QB the opposing teams are still getting a lot of third down completions. 

Im not convinced he can ever win a Super Bowl. 2015 was his chance with us and he blew it.

So much fail in this post. Starting rookies is always risky. Wanting established starters is a good thing not bad. So having a top five defense is bad because only number 1 counts, right? And do coaches win Superbowls or do players. Using your logic LA should dump McVay because he lost the Superbowl last year and are heading downward this year. Right?? And since Andy Reid has never won a Super Bowl as a coach, then KC should dump him especially now that his QB is hurt like Cam and they might not make the playoffs, right?

I mean...Ron only coaches well when it seems like he's close to getting fired. Then the team wins for awhile, Ron gets comfortable, and the team takes a hot wet dump for awhile. Then as soon as he gets close to getting fired again, the team starts winning again. It's the same cycle with him. Maybe the good cycle lasts long enough to win a Superbowl this time. 

I will say with how many piss poorly coached teams I see play every Sunday, Ron does have the team ready to play and disciplined more than most other teams.

Come on dude.. So your saying that Ron only coaches hard when hes scared? The guy is a fantastic coach. The guys has won coach of the year 2x and has trained and developed his staff so well he has his own coaching tree and yes when he takes back the reigns he has a top 5 defense. 

I get so annoyed with people on this board that ONLY watch panther games and have no idea what is going on in the rest of the league. Ron is one of the best coaches in the league right now and has been for a long time.

      You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.

      Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.

      On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
