Why?? No he’s a problem not reliable! Surprised the NFl hasn’t banned him yet.. he needs help.. nfl Isn’t it

We’re in a position where he doesn’t have to be reliable. Taking a flyer on a player with immense talent for one year and low money is low risk high reward. If he doesn’t work out, it’s not a big deal.

Randy Moss sure didn’t work out, did he?

So you have to go back a decade? Brady was 30.  Lot of vets have come in since then and they have shortened the field for a 40 year old dink and dunker

Lol. Generational talent? In what world? He’s got 1600 yards and 6 TDs, get this, over the past 6 years. 4000 yards and 20 TDs in an 8 year career is not a generational talent.

People have been moaning over how much talent he has since the first suspension. That first suspension was 6 years ago and yet somehow he’s still one of the best WRs in the league? Give it a rest. He’s not and never will be a generational talent.

Did this guy violate you personally? It isn't even remotely possible to look at him and say he isn't a special talent. Has his talent translated to production? No. But that has nothing to do with him as a player. His off the field issues have been a disaster. When he is on the field, he is immediately someone the defense has to be wary of and adjust to. I don't see how that is even debatable.

Danny Amendola did okay when he was healthy.

Brandin Cooks was a better deep threat but not necessarily a better receiver.

I think you can take the behavior stuff out of the equation now. He paid the consequences and he's been clean at least two years, if not longer.

The bigger concern to me is that according to Pats fans I know he just didn't look good. Not particularly fast, dropping passes, and that was injury free with Tom Brady trying to make him his go-to guy. Someone will definitely take a flyer on him due to the potential, and I wouldn't mind if that us, but there's a high chance that his window has closed.

Huh? You were the one mentioning Reggie Wayne, Chad Johnson and Torrey Holt. Holt signed with the Patriots the same year as Moss’ last year there. Chad Johnson player with NE the year after Moss’ last year. Wayne signed 5 years after Moss.

How is Moss any less relevant than the guys you mentioned?

well, they did let Moss go too after that success.  Essentially every single veteran #1 WR couldn't hang around from Moss leaving going forward.  I mean that is a pretty consistent trend IMO.

that seems to be the start of the window where they shrunk the pass game down to playing small ball w/ an aging QB.  It evolved then to being a TE/slot WR/RB dink and dunk pass offense.

Gordon is still young. He's just been banged up. Overall, his body should be relatively young, as he doesn't have that much mileage.

The Pats simply didn't believe that he was worth the effort between the injuries and modest performance. N'Keal Harry & Gordon have close measurables & a decidedly similar skill set. They're going with the young guy with upside. Time to move on.
