Bradberry has been as consistent as any corner in the league this year. Guy is a beast. But you’re right on the rest, both safeties and Donte have been very inconsistent.

Perhaps seeing him get burned left a bad taste in my mouth, so I will concede that he has been more consistent than he's ever been, but I think you're exaggerating a bit saying he's been as consistent as any corner in the league. I'll give him top 20-25 percent (until I see something concrete).

You mean like when he just let Tannehill walk in for that TD today and didn't try to tackle him at all and barely grabbed the bottom of his jersey and let go. Reid sure has come through for the team today now didn't he.

He also forced the fumble from Dion Lewis. One good play (FF), one bad play (Tannehill) which was basically the OP's premise.

How anybody can imply that Shaq and Reid are inconsistent is beyond me

It's like you just listen for names on the broadcast rather than watching the play on the field and hold on for dear life to the one tackle that got broken while ignoring strip sacks, INTs, deflections, TFL, etc

He's not perfect....it's so frustrating!

Eric Reid with 9 tackles, 1 sack, and a FF.

I would expect a thread like this to be made from BullCrap123 or EZUPantherFan but not from one of the better posters here in CRA.

It is commentary on his season.   He is oddly inconsistent.  It is confusing.  I’m not saying cut Ed Reid or bench him.  It really isn’t a bash.

But as good as he plays he also is the same dude that let Tannnehill walk into the end zone.

He could be dominant.  Which is really the point.  As he always is in position to make plays.

He does make big plays. Unfortunately, he also allows them, sometimes in maddening fashion (like the Tannehill run yesterday). And honestly, its not an exaggeration to say he might be one of the worst tackling safeties ive ever seen.

Mind you, you can win games with players like that. They just sometimes make you wanna tear your hair out.

The other team practices too. As much as I'd like to have seen Reid cut him in half, Tannehill does have the athletic ability to make guys miss.

A strip sack and a lot of solid tackles more than make up for that to me. Demanding perfection just isn't reasonable.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
