Well, you know there was a guy I liked who in very limited action has a couple sacks and a couple forced fumbles. ;)

Also, David Edwards was also available at G and he’s started 5 games now and got a lot of praise the last game I watched them play. I’m glad we grabbed Daley but we should have been loading up on OL/DL in this draft instead of trading up, Grier, Miller and Scarlett. Bobby Evans, Omenihu and Edwards were all just sitting there.

Heck, Erick McCoy went 1 pick after our draft pick we traded up from so at least the Saints got their C anchor for 10 years while we got a guy whose missed 8+ games and unlike McCoy has given up a sack.

The more I look back on the draft and seeing all the guys people liked (McCoy, the Wisconsin Gs, Evans, Risner, etc.) and we got Little and Daley instead of Daley and 2 or 3 more of those guys. Could have easily gotten McCoy, Evans, Edwards and Daley and had a much deeper and better future OL. Heck, we could have had them and Maxx Crosby instead of Little, Grier, Miller and Scarlett and still gotten Daley in the 6th. Lots of us would have been much happier with 4 OL and 3 DL/OLB and Godwin. The funny thing is all but Edwards were with us for a private visit. We had McCoy, Evans and Crosby all in for private visits so not like I’m stretching. Problem was that Hurney fell in love with Little and bid against himself to move up and that took away a chance to really solidify this OL in one draft.

Yup, and when I had a dubious outlook after this draft was over, people thought I was crazy.  I realize the true judge of a draft is three years later, but this one smells of a rotten egg not even through year one.
