I also prefer a healthy Cam Newton to start next season. Who doesn't?

The racist redneck crowd. They’re real and they’re out there, but they aren’t legions. They are few and far between but most importantly old and just bitter cause they will die soon. No one of consequence will miss them.

Very very few of those idiots. They are just loud and annoying.

There's a weird thing on this board where people can't seem to differentiate between what you believe will happen and what you want to happen.

Especially when it comes to the Panthers, those two things are quite frequently very different.

Not unique to this board. I’ve been on gaming message boards for years and the same thing happens with people unable to differentiate between what you want to happen with a game’s development and what you think is likely to happen. I wanted Atlas to be better than Ark, but at this point I’m pretty sure it will end up as flaming dog poo.

I mean this has always been the reality. As much as you have those guys who want or seem to believ cam should be traded the value just isnt there. To trade him would lead you to uncertain returns vs the possible upside. Healthy cam could possibly be a top 10 qb. A traded cam and you get what second rounds some greg littles running around and a gut full of kyle baby goat allen next season lol. 19 million right now is is looking pretty sweet.

Hell even a short term 4-5 year deal I will gamble on. You have no way of really obtaining a starting caliber qb next year. Stop this dumb sentiment he will be moved. The ONLY way it looks like it happens is if he just doesn't want to be here. We have no indication that's the case at all either. If you read into his post he was to come back better for panthers fans and charlotte is home. So what are we basing this arguement off of?

Cam's trade value right now is too low to justify releasing for $20M in cap savings.

A healthy Cam is obviously what everyone would prefer. An injured Cam is worth a one-year $20M hit or a heavily incentivized extension to see if he can get healthy.

Ding  ding ding. This guy gets it. The trade value your looking at as a return on your investment just isnt there. Anyone that has really thought about it should have reached this conclusion unless you just have to believe cam will be gone and you make up crazy scenarios like zod saying the Bengals will pass on burrow, a team that made it clear by benching dalton they are looking for a successor.

A guy who manages funds and investments probably came to this conclusion as well.

your owner has spoken

goodbye

What you and many are lacking is a perspective of rehabilitation when an elite level athlete is no longer able to sustain the elite productivity they once produced with a combination of age and injury accumulation.

“Healthy” has always been the keyword and is used interchangeably with “100%” but these two terms are far from synonymous when it comes to Cam.

No no no. You’re mixing what you want to happen with what you believe will happen. Common sense will not be accepted.

Sounds like posturing to both other teams and fans.

Tells other teams he isn’t just going to give him up for nothing to boost his trade value.

Tells fans that the the only reason he would move on is if Cam isn’t healthy enough to be trusted so that he doesn’t seem like the bad guy if he ships Cam out. He can just say that he didn’t think Cam could stay healthy.

The second tweet that says he will do due diligence and listen to offers gives it away. He is in no way married to the idea that Cam is the starter next season.

Pretty much.

"We'd like him back healthy, but we'll also listen to trade offers" isn't exactly an unequivocal statement.

And as mentioned, teams that are trying to trade a player don't tend to say "look, somebody just take this guy off our hands".

I like how a straight answer from Tepper is “coded” but “sources” are taken as fact with some posters. Just say you don’t like Cam and move on.

This.
been stated if cam is healthy I find it hard to believe we are moving on barring a trade that works in favor of us, but some of you conspiracist theorists are going above and beyond to push the narrative that he’s “likely” gone each turn
