Don't take this to mean he is the QB he wants starting for him. Just trying to give a compliment. Why would he say something negative about a player on the team he was just hired to coach? If anyone can get something out of Grier though it is probably him

This was what a lot of people thought. Pro ready, but not that high of a ceiling. It’s not like he had the coaching staff/offensive line/healthy receivers to find out anyway...

He said it during the scouting process pre draft in April 2019.

It reveals something about his eye for “pro ready” NFL players.

Talk about conflating a single sentence spoke by a guy a year ago.  Good god you people are insufferable.  I'll refrain from unnecessary fishing for reasons to dislike the hire given he is coming in as a non-retread non-NFL type.

Grier seemed extremely pro ready leading up to the draft if you follow college football he was definitely seen as a pro ready option. Being a seasoned starter in college.
