USA Today 7 Round Mock. Hmm

Hi. With this, I'd imagine we target a OT and LG in the FA.  Quite like picks 1-3.

1. Isaiah Simmons - LB/Defensive Everything - Clemson

2. Neville Gallimore - DT - Oklahoma

3. Thaddeus Moss - Tight End - LSU

4. Alex Highsmith - DE - Charlotte

5. Bryan Edwards - WR - South Carolina

6. Julian Blackman - S - Utah

7. DJ Wonnum - DE - South Carolina

Why do these experts always think we gona pick a bunch of local kids.  Do they do this with every market or just us?

Legit question. I honestly thought it was the OPs until I read closer....lol. It does look more like a local fan mock.

A terrible OL...a center ranked worst in the NFL...a drafted LT with two bad concussions in his first year...QBs unable to perform or injured as a result of the OL..

and we are not taking ONE OFFENSIVE LINEMAN....,

do these people even watch the Panthers or know anything about them?

I'd say Center is arguably the most critical OL need for us draft wise.  No way in hell we spend FA money with Paradis and Larsen on the books.  We need to just shelf Paradis and bite the cap penalty for an extra roster spot.

I don't have a R1 fave yet but a C round 2-4 should definitely be a target.

They got Edwards mocked in the 5th?

I’m insulted. Probably the most complete WR the Gamecocks have had since Alston Jeffrey.

    • You know, there's something about this whole JAG thing that really just drives home the idea that to some folks, these players aren't real people, just names and stats.  Of course, it goes beyond sports. We're a sad, jaded species, us humans.
    • I hope we get no featured games, or only one if that's still a thing Don't like having to subscribe to a service just to see the panthers play a single game, i'm looking at you peacock Football is made for sunday afternoons Word
    • Yeah, it's just dumb. Everything is year to year. I never understood how anyone could stay engaged as a Kentucky fan or duke fan as duke became a one and done factory like Calipari made Kentucky. The thing I liked at about UNC is that we primarily focused on recruits likely to play multiple years. We'd have pur occasional one and done but most of our pros still played multiple years. And the days of the Stackhouses, Wallace, Jamison, Carter, etc. playing multiple years is just over. And now you have your role players entering the portal every year to test the waters elsewhere. I don't blame them for looking out for themselves but just personally speaking I'll run out of interest quickly trying to get to know a whole new roster year over year.
