I've always liked Tannehill and thought Miami never built around him properly.  That being said, him at his peak is nowhere near Newton 100%.  Though his agility & mobility has always been mega underrated.  Wouldn't hate it but we're not going to be a bottom dweller with him.

He's Alex Smith.  We can win with him while we develop a QB either this season or next.

 

That said this is just a rumor and tbh I don't buy it until I see otherwise. How accurate has this guy been?

Additionally, earlier this month he had what has been described to by multiple sources as a procedure to help blood flow — unrelated to the mid-foot surgery in December.  hmm ?

While I don't rate Tannehill as high as a healthy Cam, you can't help but be impressed at RT's play this year.  22 TD, 6 INT's, 70% completion and almost 10 yards per attempt.  He's not mobile, but he can push the ball.  Oh, and that was in only 10 starts.  If Cam were to be elsewhere next season for whatever reason, we could do a lot worse.

That’s not exactly how you take the first step in doing a full blown rebuild. 

It probably puts you back in an 8-8/7-9 purgatory.
