Elaborate on that. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, just curious to hear a take from someone who has certainly watched more of his games than I have.

disappeared in several games, lack of effort, etc.

Lot of upside and out of this world measurements but 7 seems way too early. Seems like he’s climbing just off combine and measurements.

I don’t think he’ll be a pro bowl level player at the next level and that’s what you want to see drafting that high.

Not a fan, a couple of good picks.  Overall I would give that a grade of a 'C'.  Agreed with a prior post about Aiyuk lasting to the 3rd.  Lynch is a 'tweener' but still should go a round higher. Kinlaw seems like a bit of project, but one that very well could be solid.  I want a plug and play guy that high, though.  I'm good with the 2nd rounder.  Picks 5-7 are meh.

I like the upside that comes with Kinlaw as opposed to Brown that did not particularly impress at the combine. However, if I am honest, either would be a little underwhelming at the 7th pick.

The farther you get from Round 1 the harder it becomes to pinpoint available options, but this draft has a meh quality. It is not unreasonable but has few wows.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
