Maine currently requires visitors to have a test or quarantine for 14 days. It is enforced by hotels, BNB, campgrounds etc. NY and NJ and maybe CT have suggested doing the same. I understand it can't be completely enforced but it would help.

NY, NJ, CT has asked for quarantine on visitors from 16 states including NC.

Our government's got the money to let everyone take the rest of the year off if we needed to but they decided that tens of thousands of American lives weren't worth the cash.

Our government has the ability to print enough money. It doesn't really have a savings account as far as my understanding goes. If we use GDP as a proxy that would be another $20T for a year. American salary for a year would be around the same. I think that would have massive global economic effects.

20T with zero tax revenue. That’s a very bad situation.

We’d be paying interest on past debt with new debt. Yikes.

As we said 300 pages ago, it is a tightrope that has to be walked between health and economy.

Concentrating on just one, would devastate the other

health is real.  the economy is not.

"The economy" is people's way to support themselves.  Many will have to pull their kids out of school and move away if they lost their job.  Not cool for you to be so disrespectful towards their reality.

We invented the economy. It's NOT real. We can just as easily modify it.

Health IS real and you only get one life to live.

Not to be a dick, but you do realize that 2/3 to 3/4 of people still work, right? People are working as I type this to keep the electricity on and the internet working.

In early November, we'll just be starting cold/flu season.

The reality is that Trump bet his presidency on COVID running it's course quickly and a resulting quick V-shaped economic recovery despite every virologists and epidemiologist on the planet saying that was the least likely scenario. He bet big and he lost big.

He wasn't briefed

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
