Na, just let the poo show continue on at this point. Let the younger guys grow, and prepare for 2021.

This. Bouncing from one old guy to another every year doesn’t work. Let’s develop some guys for a change.

This is not a ‘win now’ year.

No. He’s a cancer who has an all about me mentality

Come on, man! I think some of y'all are full of it. It's always a problem when people speak to obvious wrongs in America.

he doesn't have the speed or coverage skiils to replace Boston at free safety.

One of the worst offseason moves we made this season was re-signing Boston.  He was terrible again.  Multiple missed tackles,  blown coverage.

It doesn't take much to replace him.   Also, agree that Reid isn't the guy.  He's not a safety.  Prob be an above average OLB if he beefed up.

Reid was a good guy and he was a very good teammate. I think he's a good man for standing up for the right cause, too.

He, however, isn't a good tackler (you've got to use your arms) and that hurts a team on the backend. We need to go with who we have and let them learn.

It is also just the first game of the season, with no preseason under an entirely new coaching staff/defensive scheme. It may take time for the defense to gel. It wasn't like we were tearing it like the '85 Bears out there last year. Or the 2015 Panthers. Or the 2003 Panthers.

Maybe like the 2018 Browns or something.

I will say Tahir Whitehead appeared like he was giving the Raiders the game on multiple plays. Including the TD run in the 4th quarter. Whiteheard just appears hit the wrong hole on purpose.

Hell, we've all done that then pretended it was an accident!

    • I still think a Dalton thumb injury screwed us 2 seasons in a row.  It allowed the Bryce Young comeback after whoever finally gave a greenlight on being done w/ him 2 weeks into the season.  and I think we saw a soft benching this year and they wanted to see Andy run it with this crew.  But Andy hurting his thumb killed us from seeing whatever he has at full go in a game.  Bryce Young was never hurt those 2 games to the degree which called him to miss a game IMO.  You don't see QBs sit for such minor things....unless you just want to use it to explore and see.
    • I was quite critical of Ron Rivera's game day coaching decisions and management over his years here. Especially when he coached super conservative playing not to lose. But at the end of the day he never had to try and win with a Bryce Young. John Fox had to try and win with a Bryce Young and he completely checked out and got himself fired. The only. Only solution right now. Is to remove the anchor around our necks from the equation and move forward however we can and assess all the moving parts with the time we have left so we can move forward accordingly in the offseason. Not doing so is only going to further delay evaluating what we have in this young roster and this staff led by Canales.
    • Sometimes GMs try outsmart everyone by picking a player they think has the physical tools and can be coached up but Legette is an example what happens when that doesn't work out. Teams that are already contenders with a full roster can take those chances. The Eagles, for example, could have rolled the dice on a guy like Legette. But the Panthers needed, and still need, to draft guys who are ready to play now in the first round. Legette wasn't that guy and there were much better options available.
