I'm still kicking and still pulling for the Panthers

Coach Mike Craft

This is Mike  Craft former Panthers Insider.  I saw a thread from Panthers fans and thought I should just say that news of my demise has been greatly exaggerated.   Despite a few battles medically (not cancer), I am still living and in the area.  I am currently pursuing my dream of coaching serving as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Rocky River High School.  I am also teaching digital media and web design to the next generation.  As always, I am optimistic about the direction of the Panthers and catch most of the games from the comfort of my easy chair.  I  know I promised to "stop talking" but I am toying with the idea of picking up the microphone again and putting my two cents in, only if someone is willing to listen and until CMS high school teams get back on the field.  Keep Pounding!

Sincerely,  "The Fat Guy"

@ellis

I would listen to Mike and you every other day.

EDIT: Happy to hear about your latest pursuits Mike, and even happier to hear that you're doing well overall!

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
