Is Moore really better than Samuel?

I feel its a fair question. Moore by no means is a scrub, but Samuel seems to always get open more consistently. He's more clutch on 3rd down and his value has been kept down for years by poor coaching and bad qb play. Moore had a monster year last season but how much of that was manufactured off our offense and play design? You can't plan for yac and thats what Moore does best. You also can't scheme it into your production every week.

Its one of those things that if it happens it happens. That said samuel is no slouch there in the yac department either. The difference is it seems you can depend on samuel getting open more often than Moore. Moore wins in a more physical contested catch situation which you need but since you paid robby the who should you pay debate gets a little more murky. I like both them but I think Samuel with his utility and clutch value has atleast earned the right to ask the question

Is there a right answer?

Lol

Ive been defending Samuel from the get go but he’s not close to Moore. If Moore played with a better QB he would be running away with the receiving yardage crown, he’s open all game long, while getting covered by the opposing teams best DB

Samuel is certainly benefitting from being covered by the third CB as opposed to the 1 or 2.  That said, he's showing much better hands this year than he's shown in previous years.

I think DJ needs a QB who can really press the ball downfield.  Yes, Teddy "can" throw deep, but he can't PUSH the ball deep.  We're missing that 15-20 yard out that DJ thrives on.

Our receivers are, and I can't believe I'm about to say this, our receivers are GOOD.  They get open, they catch, the get YAC.  Teddy is a fine game manager, but he's not a franchise QB.  If we had an outstanding defense, we could go a long way with Teddy.  Wanna prove it to yourself?  Ask yourself, how many points would we score if all you did was swap Bridgewater for Mahomes.

On the real, Samuel has always been able to get separation. He never was meant to be the main guy, but he has certainly been the WR2 with a modicum of success. Being that we must be skeptical of the way the previous regime inefficiently used players, Samuel was always better than many thought.

All that being said, Moore, Samuel and Robby Anderson play well together. I think they open things up for one another on any given play. I'd hate to see the trio split up. I think that it's a legitimate question as to whether or not we want to overly invest in any one of them, but as of now all three of them may command more than we may like to pay.

It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. I don't know that there's a right or wrong answer. I do trust Rhule to figure it out!

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
