Now we're back at a 2 score game no matter what the Bucs do on offense next.

Then again, Panthers understandably have little confidence in the defense lol

That's definitely the right call; always go for it early to know where you stand. Better to miss it now than miss it late in the game when you won't have another opportunity to get the ball back without an onside kick.
