Seeing Walker makes me see Teddy's limitations too

Sure, Walker doesn't seem to have the split-second processing or the decision-making that Bridgewater has (not that I think that Teddy has been sterling in his decision making this season), but his arm, athleticism and more of a seeming willingness to push the ball down field was refreshing. Basically, it makes me yearn for a superior combination of the two, if I'm being totally honest.

You mean an actual franchise QB? Just like everyone that wanted to tank has also wanted very much?!

Welcome to the dark side. That’s all I want. I knew who Teddy was and that’s why I had no desire to go through a season with him when we (with Grier, sorry PJ) had a legit shot at one of the top QBs.

PJ needs some more practice and experience but against a D like the Saints he’s likely eaten alive. That said, he had so many throws, not just the deep ones that Teddy floats for an incompletion. That’s why Teddy just sticks with the easier throws unless Moore is so wide open that’s even a duck will be completed.

I hope people saw today and realize why many of us are pounding the table for a good young QB with an arm. This is a great QB class and that’s also why I’ve been on that train. If it was a Jamarcus Russell led draft, I wouldn’t care as much. This could be one where you get a Marino in the 20s or Kelly/Roethlisberger in the teens because of how many good QBs there are.

Exactly my point.. Relax you ppl have made these same mistakes before..0p

Do you think Teddy is more talented and has a higher ceiling than Walker? I certainly don't. I very seriously doubt that Walker is the answer but Teddy definitely isn't and we're out of contention, so what's the harm in giving the guy a legit look down the stretch?

Walker has not had reps with NFL 1's.  He did not get a preseason.  This week...... reportedly he split reps with Grier. He made some mistakes today but I think with reps and coaching those could potentially improve.  He has a much better arm that TB.  I like TB...he apparently is an outstanding  human being but unfortunately he has not looked like the future.  I would love to see more of PJ.  He did very well with very limited reps.

This was PJs first start in the NFL. And he looked better than our “starter”. Yea the two picks were REALLY bad, but we’ve seen those from Teddy too. He over threw a couple passes. But overall he throws a better ball, has better ball placement, throws better on the run, is willing and able to throw it deep. There is no reason Teddy should ever throw another pass for the Panthers unless PJ gets hurt. Let PJ get some experience this year and battle our first round pick for the starting job next year and have that pick be ready in year two or three.

Bridgewater and Walker are both mid to high level backups. Different skill sets both with high floors and low ceilings. Bridgewater is obviously the better of the two because of his experience and decision making but the fact remains there is not a QB capable of taking this team to a super bowl on this roster.

Yes I do.. He just not good enough to carry a bad oline against better teams... There is also alot of Film on Teddy which is not a issue for PJ... Again PJ played a horrible team and threw the worst red zone Ints I've ever seen.. But the team won so it is what it is..

Just watched Rhules presser and he said although those throws could cost you a game, he said a lot of the miscues were actually on the receivers making the wrong read and PJ made the right one, and he attributed that to PJ not having reps/experience with the first team offense.

I feel like that Rhule blowing smoke. It's pretty clear on the second one PJ was at fault. DJ got bumped and PJ still through it back corner where there was 4 defenders instead of adjusting. Thats not on the DJ thats on Walker.

The first one... Bad call, bad read, bad throw.

Yeah I disagree.. But Matt has every right to defend his players ...
