Rhule: I didn't want a play run before the 2 minute warning... The ball has to be thrown beyond the sticks on that 4th and 8.

Just said this in his presser.  Said he didn't want that play run right before the 2 minute warning that led to the 4th and 8.  He said he'll have to get with the staff and figure out why that play was run.  Also, said Robby and Pharoah were downfield on the 4th and 8 and the "ball has to get past the sticks on that play."  He said he hasn't talked with Teddy but doesn't know why he threw it where he did.  Overall, he seems like he has had it and although said ultimately responsibility falls on him as the coach, he definitely implicated Teddy and "the staff," for these miscues today and mentioned both.  Hopefully, this will lead to some change because it seems like to this point Teddy has been given full autonomy of the offense with no accountability for his mistakes...  he has been making horrible decisions, bad pre-determined passes, and incurring penalties or lost yardage due to bad game management and/or audibles (such as the 3rd and 8 hurried play today before the 2 minute warning).

Still have been disappointed by our team's regression as the year has gone on, but I'm glad Rhule finally addressed these things directly.

Then it's on you for A) having him in the game or B) dialing up a play with a shallow option.

If there's a two yard option on 3rd or 4th down, Teddy's taking it regardless of the distance to go. We've seen it time and time again. Dude protects his completion percentage like it directly translates to points on the board

I was thinking why are they running a play, now I’m thinking who called the play in? As far as Teddy is concerned, yeah on 4th down you gotta get the ball past the sticks, but there’s a whole lotta blame to pass around for this loss. Drew Lock damn near had a perfect passer rating....

Brady's in communication with Bridgewater, so you gotta figure he gave him the play.

If Brady didn't know that Rhule wanted to wait, that's poor communication.

Ya I have a feeling Rhule isn't exactly being truthful here.

They were trying to use the 2 minute warning as a clock stopper. It backfired on them. "nuff Said.

Everyone is just pointing fingers but truth is it’s everyone’s fault. This team is just bad in every way.

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
