2nd round prospect that seems would be a Rhule fit.

Think its all assumed and we're all holding our breath that its a QB in rd 1.

Now the Panthers still have a Huge need at OL and CB.

On the OL, they need talent all over.  Paradis is the only starting OL under contact next season.  While he played better, he still wasnt Good, just better than his horrid 2019 season.  Next year will be his last year on his deal, so even he Doesnt get Cut to open cap space, he'll be gone the next year.

In come his potential replacement.

A local Kid, from Hudson, NC (right outside Hickory)

Meet Landon Dickerson.

The Starting Center from Alabama

Dickerson just feels like a Rhule guy.

1st:  our favorite word, "Culture".  This kid is known to be a Leader and aa good as you can get lockeroom guy.  Don't believe me, go watch when he tore his ACL in the SEC Championship game where dam near ever player and coach for Alabama came from the sideline out to the cart.  Saban thought so highly of him that he brought him out to take the final snap of the national championship.  Even though he tore his ACL a few weeks earlier, he still dressed out and was out there in warmups and sideline with his guys.

This brings me to my next point,

Tough as he11-> "Temple Tough"

Rhule helped coin the whole "Temple tough".  And this MF is all of that and more.

Ok, let's derail the hype train a bit here.

The guy started like the first half of his freshman season . . . and tore his ACL.

He comes back the next year, as a sophmore, plays like four games, injures his ankle, requiring surgery, out for the rest of the year.

Comes back a junior, TWO games, ankle injury, out the rest of the season.

So now he redshirts, transfers from Florida State to Alabama.  Good for him.  For the first time in his college career, he plays a full season.

Against Florida this year, tears his ACL, AGAIN.

Come on man.  There is no way I'm giving a second round pick for a guy with FOUR season ending injuries before he even gets to the NFL.  On talent, he's probably a 3rd rounder.  With that injury history, fourth round at best.

I would have before the torn knee.  I'm worried he's damaged goods now.  Secondly, I'm taking an OT in the second round.   Agreed, we need an heir apparent to Paradis, but that's going to have to wait until at least the 4th round.   Need a CB in the 3rd.

You. Do. Not. Invest in big men with injuries. How many times does this FO need to learn...Williams, Okung, Kalil, Paradis now Little...and these are just the recent ones...NO.

Never saw Dickerson as good enough for pick 39 before the ACL injury. No chance I’d want him with his injury past. I also don’t completely care if the IOL we get in the draft are Gs or a C. Paradis is still under contract and if we go QB at 8, we don’t have a lot of picks. A 3rd for Bradberry and 4th/5th for Addison would be nice right now. Easily could have taken 4 G/Cs (2 day two and 2 day 3) and still had 6 (or 7) picks left for a QB and other positions.

Yikes with that injury history I’d say he’s a 6-7th rounder if not undrafted.

    • With Horn I would gladly over pay... via the TAG.   I would take his 5th year option and TAG and TAG again. Dude is a monster but I dont want to pay for a monster with as few starts as he has.
    • If Bryce plays like last year, we will be picking high and can move on.  But I am curious to see how people on here are when he sees success and becomes the guy, if he does. It's almost like people want him to fail. He's got that Panther jersey on and a good attitude. I am rooting for him, as you should.  Last year the coaching, OL, and weapons were abysmal, and it put him in a tough spot. He did not play well either, but we saw glimpses, and its a full team sport. I choose to go into this year excited under a fresh new regime and a top prospect from 365 days ago at the helm with new OL and weapons. Whatever happens, happens. Let's have some fun with it.
    • Maybe. You know he wanted that OC gig each time, I believe the last time they even stated he interviewed for the role. This was during the whole youth movement that mccvay started as well.  Honestly I was hoping Seattle would have cut ties with pete, he would have been great here in a top mentor role. I don't think its talked about enough, they did Pete wrong. He made them a great NFL team for the first time in their history and gave them a SB. He's still in great shape by all reports and they just decided to go young. They even removed most of his pictures and quotes in the building. Sorta like what the pats did to bill, but waay worse.  I guess I have too much loyalty for the new times, no chance either should been to out for retirement..
