And the Dolphins have already intimated they're not going to go for it.

things are bad though

I don’t even think with saleh going to the jets it’s enough for Watson to want to go there because that franchise is an absolute dumpster fire just like the Texans. It’s more than just a coach.

People talking about nfl turning into the nba because Watson is wanting to be traded have no idea just how bad that Texans org is with their ownership. People should go read their board. It’s an absolute dumpster fire. Watson knows this and is exerting his power to try to right the ship, because his career is on the line, except ownership lied and backstabbed him. Watson has the talent to be one of the best to play the game. I’d get out too. Cant realize that potential with that organization.

i don’t think we pull this off and it would be risky because this team is not ready to give up that much draft capital but idk. I’m open to it depending on what is dealt. We’d have to draft so well in rounds 2-3 if we gave up 3 firsts for him. Maybe we could throw in an elite player to get a first back.

yeah i think this is a pretty unique situation and there's a lot of "this uppity black guy should shut up and throw ball."

like no one is complaining that JJ Watt is also forcing his way out.

He needs to go to a team on the cusp just lacking solid QB play and we aren't there yet.  We will have to mortgage our future to get him.  So no.  Let's build through the draft and not through FA or high-profile trades.

That's exactly what I'm thinking . I don't think it's smart to trade everything we have for Watson and be cap strapped and lacking high round draft picks for several years is a extremely poor idea.

If our team was already set to contend for a championship and wasn't rebuilding and we had some extra draft picks and decent amount of cap space then sure. That's why it makes alot more sense for the Dolphins who can also give the Texans a young qb to swap with and picks if they need to .

Who do we have to trade , Teddy ? Grier ? Pj? Lol our picks aren't high enough for them to draft another qb

So much of this situation points to it making absolutely 0 sense for the Panthers but fans are still thinking it'll come true .

In comparison , it's more likely we'd resign Cam and let him battle Teddy for the starting spot . Not even joking.

the no trade clause makes it interesting as you’re not necessarily bidding against the rest of the league and he can tank houston’s leverage by limiting his potential destinations. i don’t know and can only speculate but if i had to guess i think watson would waive his no trade clause for carolina given that it’s the closest franchise to his hometown and college (outside of atlanta who definitely can’t trade for him) and the franchise looks like it’s heading in the right direction. very very stupid team if they don’t check in on him at the least.

I’d argue Jets and Dolphins are less likely to do this. Why pay big money and give up assets for a QB when you’re in position to draft one on a rookie deal? That would be a waste for both of them. Saleh is a new HC there who will be building his program. Dolphins can be sellers by either trading Tua or keeping him— either way- so why buy?

Panthers can trade Teddy and a haul of picks to Houston. We should be pushing as hard as we can for this.

Well also that Mannings and Elway have done this long ago too....even BEFORE they were ever in the NFL. Just an idiotic take basked in total ignorance. This type of thing has always happened in the NFL it just has so many more players than the NBA.

Lol at Teddy being trade bait!  The Texans may as well negotiate for Sir Purr in that package as well.
