Sure, he's no longer what he once was but he'll still be a very effective player for someone. We all know something about Houston too. They're currently the biggest dumpster fire in the NFL and possibly all of professional sports.

True--if this were not Houston, I would be saying, "He must be done."  But since it is Houston, you really do not know.  I am so happy I am not a Texan fan.

He is still young, so that could mean he sees the upside here.  I would want to be part of the growth, not some team that brings in ex-Patriots to win rings.

He's only 31, but man he has a ton of wear and tear on him. The way he plays takes a toll on the body. I think he'sdone as an elite DL but he'll still be a good player for someone.

they traded for jared allen

6th rounder to the Bears for Watts and they kept most of his contract--and we only paid about $900K of his salary, while the Bears took on the rest, but his salary was about $12m back then and he was a one-dimensional, situational pass rusher.  It was a great deal for us.  We could take Watt on a deal like that, but it ain't happening.  My point was the amount of $$$ pass rushers past their primes make--we can't afford to get into that kind of a bidding war.  We need to develop Burns and Gross-Matos and the other young ones--they are entering their primes, in my opinion.

    • He was so much fun to watch as a player but is a prototypical example of the old "never meet your heroes" adage. Great player, not a great guy.
    • Look.... if us BY "haters" give credit about his GWDs...... Will the BY stans also have honest discussion about the 55minutes before the last 5 in which BY has put up 9/20 for 78 yards 0 TDs???
    • The way they are handling now is how they should have handled it from the start instead of that you get a series, you a get a series. Let Chuba spell until he had some of his step back.  We definitely could have put a better showing against Buffalo and their weak run defense had we employed the same game plan we did against Green Bay. Saints were determined to stop the run and make Bryce beat them, Atlanta had similar plan and the coaches and Bryce were able to respond.  Rico although didnt have the best rushing game was vital in the passing game and his catch and run help get us into the redzone there at the end of regulation probably should have been a touchdown that out of bounds was a judgement call it wasn't conclusive and thus should have went with the original call on the field.  Roco brings that dawg to the offense that it shorely lacked up until Miami game. Interesting it was his call that help seal the win for us, glad the coaches were listening. Hope they can get a deal done and run it back next year.
