Actually that’s correct going by metrics and statistics for the past 20 years.

I think we're further away than that but even accepting the premise, it's not like we can just decide we're gonna get those things.

We're not really in good position draft wise or free agency wise on the quarterback front.

No team has zero chance at the playoffs. That is absolutely a false idea. This division used to have a long run of worst to first. I don’t think we’re necessarily overtaking the Saints next year but I do think we’re a lot closer than many around here wanna admit. Bridgewater was by far the biggest reason we missed out last year. Our defense is getting better. We have a great group of skill players on offense. We get some o-line and a good QB, we’re making a run. But that’s the trick, getting that QB

Regardless of what team I'm with, I'd want to see what Prescott looks like after that major injury before I'd offer anything for him.

No doubt, but if your medical experts check the box with him, and you as an organization believe he is a go, then even though there is still a risk you gotta take that chance over a Sam Darnold every time.

My significant other is a huge Cowboy fan and a big Dak Prescott fan, though.

I fear the Panthers acquiring Prescott would have a bad effect on my love life 😕

I see your point, stick to your guns.

I was actually talking a Prescott and 10th pick to Houston for Watson trade. Houston saves face replacing Watson with another young top 10 QB, and Houston gets the 10th pick in a draft where they have no 1st or 2nd rounder. Dallas adds Watson to a good Oline, Zeke Elliott, Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup to form a dynamic offense.

Since both wear #4, it shouldn't be to hard to just change the names on the back

The one sure thing we can all count on is that Watt will not be playing for the Panthers in 2021.

well, probably not.

Never say never though.  We have had some late career GOATS roll through here before.

I don't think there's going to be a trade, but if there is one the easiest kind to sell to the fans would be swapping Watson for another established quarterback.

Naturally, that takes us out of the equation.

    • Like I said El Captain doesn't score much but when he does its because he through the team on his back and WILLED the Canes to victory.... he's been so clutch the past few years in HUGE moments.
    • You can feel the Cresendo rising.... Rags fans are terrified everything just feels like the Canes do this.... I'll be at PNC Thursday.... make it loud make it proud.... I think it's gonna be a game were the Canes play at least 2 elite periods and Slaughter the Rags.... You could almost feel the moment the Rags will was broken in Game 5....
    • One of the things that we have heard is that Canales is going to be putting a heavy emphasis on the run and that has made more than a few frustrated because "it's a passing league" and "you don't draft a QB 1st overall to have a run heavy offense". This isn't to argue either of those points, just pointing out something interesting i saw. I heard a comment yesterday someone made talking about how Canales' offense is going to look like what was seen in Seattle and what did Seattle do? Ran...a lot. This isn't something that i really noticed much at the time and, frankly, i'm kind of surprised by this. I mean they had Russ who was at the time a very good and very dangerous QB, and they still ran a lot (too much by Russ' opinion, which is why he wanted out). Yeah, Russ wasn't drafted first overall, or even in the first round. But looking at what he was able to do probably should have been. I checked to see just how much they ran and, well...here it is. I looked at their rush vs pass attempts and where they were ranked within the league for each.  For most of that time span i'd say they were pretty successful. after Russ got there they didn't have a losing season until 2021 and even then, that's been our ceiling for a while. During that whole time of their successes they were always in the bottom half in the league as far as passing attempts go. As a rushing team, i think their best seasons were when they were a rushing top heavy team.  is this a strategy that most of us would choose? probably not, but it can work. it doesn't matter the reasoning for being rush heavy as long as they can make it work and i think with this OL and RB room i think we can. Will it be the most exciting style of play? i don't know. but if it can keep us in games and help us win, i'm all for it.
