Ha...no. I’d give YGM and Jackson if it came to that.

This is a good/fair starting point.

This package as is would allow us to keep a lot of our picks still the next few years and this one.

You need to give to get. We could sign Reddick to fill Burns role. Obviously he’s not as good but we’d have Watson.

I just don’t see how we land Watson without giving up one of those two guys.

Everyone wants Watson but immediately says no when they see the names of the players that carry any value in a trade for us. What do you guys expect?

He doesn't need too.. Texans do not want him anyway by the looks of it. Give them our 1st this year, our first next year, throw in some other tier drafts.. and maybe Samuel.

The point is, a few defensive players on their rookie contracts who will command huge deals in a few years aren't going to get in the way of locking up a franchise elite QB for the next 10-15

How can you say that the richest owner in the NFL is stupid?

Rich doesn't necessarily equal football smart. Guys like Snyder, Jones, Haslam and many others prove that.

If the proverbial room consists of Tepper, Fitterer and Rhule, the guy with the least amount of football smarts in the room is Tepper.

The last thing any of us should want is the least smart guy in the room dictating decisions over the two smarter guys.

Can you name me the teams that you think are still in on going for Watson as of right now and what they would logically give up for him? I'm curious. I don't expect a bidding war anymore so if they trade him he's going to be cheaper than a lot of folks believe he'll be. I say 3 picks. 4 max and not all number 1s either. They should have traded him 2 weeks ago

Jets out, Dolphins out, Bears out, 49ers out, Denver? WFT? Pats?

Yep. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Fitterer has the mentality of:

”Let’s keep Chinn and DJ...and that’s it. Every other player and pick is available.”

Give Watson one weapon and keep your most valuable player on defense. The rest can be built later with free agency and day 2 draft picks. I’m not sure any other team is going to make a move that bold...and that’s what Tepper/Fitterer are counting on.

My prediction is the trade will be:

1st round (2021, 2022)

2nd round (2021, 2023)

Bridgewater, McCaffery and Burns.

If you find a way to bring in Hassan Reddick then imo including Burns is a moot aspect of the deal.

Trading CMC sucks but is necessary. I don’t think his restructure takes him off the trade block.

That gets HOU basically everything they want. Multiple 1sts, talented young defender, MVP candidate to keep the fans engaged. Go draft another QB with that roster and picks and you’ll be back in the convo for AFCS title sooner then later as long as you don’t miss.

Its fair to say that he doesnt have the football smarts, but you dont have to be a genius to understand the kind of talent that Watson brings to the table. To call him stupid... thats pretty extreme. The guy was a co-owner of ths Steelers for a long time as well. So he understands how football operations are run.

Trrading CMC is virtually impossible after the restructure.  We would have over 30million in dead cap over the next 2 seasons, and it would eat our cap this year too.

As for the money piece, there is no way that the Panthers dont restructure Watson's deal once they land him.... I expect them to match the Mahomes contract or standardize that.

Lol just because he's good in the markets doesn't mean he's not stupid in every aspect of life outside of making money.

My ex wife, brilliant physician. Outside of that? Common sense of a rock.

There's tons of people on this planet with limited specialized genius.

We have more reason to think he is smart than we do that he is stupid... what proof do we have that he has done something stupid enough to question his intelligence?
