Jermaine Carter broke out late last season, don't forget him. Run defense looked way better after he replaced Whitehead. Also Chinn might get moved full time to safety.

Anyone would look better than Whitehead.  That's not hard to do.  Let's not over hype him just because of that.

Limited Cap Space: Check

Tons of Holes : Check

I don't know where these players are.  The top tier ones that have no injury history, that will sign for peanuts.

Guys been doing funky trades on Madden too much, or something.

Does it make me nervous to sign players with an injury history?  Sure.  But due to some of the issues on the team with cap/holes to fill.....what other realistic options are there?

Thuney signed 5 years 80m with Chiefs.  Can't believe he didn't come to Charlotte for 3 dollars a year.

Two kinds of football players. Those who have been injured,  and those that are going to be injured.

Problem is that the players who are frequently the first kind often have a shorter timer on being the second kind. Not always, but enough to be concerned.

fuging ATROCIOUS signing. I just read about it on ESPN. No wonder he is always injured.

Panthers fill a need at linebacker, secure a two-year deal with Denzel Perryman

In their ongoing quest to find a middle linebacker to replace perennial Pro Bowl standout Luke Kuechly, the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday agreed to a two-year deal with Denzel Perryman, league sources told ESPN.

The former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker (5-foot-11, 24 pounds) will replace Tahir Whitehead, who was signed to a one-year deal last offseason after Kuechly retired after only eight NFL seasons.

That isn't overhyping, that's an honest assessment of what happened. Carter looks improved and could play more, if so this is a positive overall.

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
