A Look At the Defense (As of 3/18/21)

If that is or DL we are really small.  Fast but small.  Right now the only 2 real DT we have on the roster with any playing time is Brown and Roy.  But it's still early and CB is still a real need as well.

Let's say I'm really intrigued by the defense so far. The play calling is going to have to be more aggressive this season.

We still need another good DT to hold the point of attack.  That lineup in the OP screams "Run right at them".

I love that defense as a 2nd and 10, Cover 1 look with Chinn matching up on the TE vs pretty much any 2 WR set.

Um... Do you guys know who morgan fox is? He's a friggin DT that can play anywhere along the line in a 3 or a 4 alignment

Don't forget Carter did a good job at MLB last year as well when discussing depth. Haynes played well on limited snaps. I would love to see us go after a true FS (Xavier Woods maybe) and a veteran CB in FA.

Another CB, a S and a backup NT and we are in pretty good shape. Need to get all these guys in free agency and go total offense in the draft. 

Offense? LT, LG, RG and RB/WR- that kid from Memphis fits perfect. takes on the Samuel role and can fill in for CMC if he gets dinged up. 

Also need a starting TE, oh and a franchise QB.

I would be happy with Farley, Suritan and Barmore. 

Barmore next to Brown. Jesus them are some beasts up front.

I see this as our defense on passing downs. On potential run downs I see big 330 lb. Roy at NT with Brown sliding out to DE in place of Fox

The starting defense certainly looks more like an NFL starting defense with the current personnel, minus half the secondary.

The problems will be injuries, and FAs not playing up to expectations. There's not a lot of depth behind this group, and I think we're still a year away from having that "Panthers defense" we've grown accustom too. 

If we stay disciplined and don't give up too much chasing assists this off-season we could really find some answers on the OL and hopefully our next Franchise QB.

agree Fox and YGM at 3-4 END seems like trouble against the run. i do like the outside LB thing we have going on though.
