Joe Person: Panthers don't love other QB's besides Lawrence and Wilson

We drafted Jimmy Clausen. People can say what they want about the man but he knew how to get the job done.

Exactly. Clausen. Not penny pitching got us Cam. Mel Kiper hyped up pickles like no other and Marty fell for it. That huge mistake got us Cam the next year.

I don't trust Kiper on 6'2", slight of frame QBs that resemble another slight of frame 6'2" QB. Not biting. The Panthers probably would.

NFL is an entertainment product. Put a boring product on the field and see what happens.

Oh I’m seeing it. This forum has done nothing but cry for months now. Counterpoint. Don’t win a super bowl and see the meltdown of having Luke and Cam for years and achieving virtually nothing. Those almost no way to make you guys happy.

But just because some of you are threatening to not watch next year if you don’t get what you want (a different QB) doesn’t mean the smart thing to do is sell the farm for a QB. That simply isn’t how you rebuild. I’m sorry you don’t like to hear it but it’s the truth.

Ehhhh I could definitely see this being a smokescreen by the Panthers. Saying you really love the guaranteed number one and two overall picks doesn't tip your hand at all

I still maintain Fields will drop to us and we will take him. That doesn't take us out of the Deshaun running later as Fields is an enticing piece. Further we give up 0 assets to a future deshaun trade by remaining at 8

I'd be willing to bet that the difference between the number of times Panthers have actually been one player away versus the number of times the Panthers braintrust thought they were one player away is... significant.

I mean the argument could be made we were an actual number two CB away in 2015 from a Superbowl, Peyton didn't throw Norman's way at all and he had some lame duck balls a more skilled CB would have picked 6'd

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
