Remember when Josh Allen was being called a bust because of his decision making and turnovers AND accuracy issues? There is no reason Darnold can’t be coached up. Brady did it with burrows(who’s older than darnold btw) and turned him into the #1 pick

Sam Darnold has been more than one full standard deviation beneath the NFL average for passer rating and ANY/A over his 3 year start to his career. Since 1970, 11 other QBs started their first 3 years in similar fashion (min. 24 starts). 7 of 11 never had a full season they started after that. : nfl (reddit.com)

Why the hell we won't to make things easier on a 5th underachieving QB? That would make sense if we already investing in darnold long term but it would be foolish to pass up a potential franchise qb just to make him feel comfortable.

Difference is that Darnold turned the ball over at a high rate in college.  That us what concerns me...that he has always been turnover prone.

Some of y'all who were singing the praises of SF for mortgaging their future to get an unproven rookie at #3, are now crying because we make a low risk high reward trade for a QB who has never played on a good team. Makes sense if you always assume every move any other team makes will work out and any move the Panthers make will backfire.
