Would the Panthers sign Lamar Jackson if the Ravens dump him?

With Tepper willingness to go all in for a top qb talent ... you think it might be considered, for how much the cost will be probably not

but what do you think a deal would be for Lamer ?

LOL. 3 firsts probably at a minimum. You remember all the chatter around Watson? Yeah well Watson has never won an MVP award.

It’s a cool idea for sure

I'm not under any delusions that teams will do this. Especially Baltimore. The players and the city love Lamar.

And to be clear, if I were GM in this scenario and landed a Patrick Mahomes or a Joe Montana, I would pay them. There's a reason QBs are so overpaid. Because a great one is the biggest game changer.

I'd still draft a backup every year to sit on the bench behind him and develop, though.

I'd sure hope not, seeing as I don't think he's that good of a QB.

He shocked the league 2 years ago, this past season they already started to adjust to him and struggled, it won't be long until he's a below average QB who can't stay healthy due to his size and not being big enough to run as constantly as he does to take the hits that comes with it.

I'm a hard pass on him at any contract number, his body type and style of game just aren't conducive to being a long term franchise QB.

Hell, if Cam couldn't do it, why does anyone think someone half his size without the same passing ability will be able to do it?

    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
    • Cos he looks much better?
