Ultimately, I think the tea leaves are reading Trey Lance after Shanny's gushing about the read option offense and running QB threat yesterday combined with the rumors that the Niners are likely to hang onto Garappolo for the time being despite multiple potential suitors. Lance is the elite QB prospect who would benefit most from not being forced to play immediately.

I'm not sure which presser you saw, but the one from the 27th seems a little different in tone --

If that's true it's hilarious. The look on Shanny's face at Bama's pro day watching Mac Jones miss throws was the look of a man who was basically realizing

He's still in prime position to pick fields or lance though. Or are they just that bad?

I think in the end, the Mac Jones thing was a Kyle creation and bullpoo.  Then the media started running with the clickbait story thanks to Kyle’s good buddy Simms.

If I a was in Vegas I’d throw a dollar on Mac being the 5th QB taken....like it always was suppose to be.

I mean before they got Jimmy G, Lynch asked about TB12.

Doesn't hurt to see if they couldn't sell the farm for Rodgers. Him and the Packers are going through some commitment issues.

This had nothing to do with them not liking the QBs in this draft and Rodgers being the amoung the best QBs in the league.

It sure does feel like the Packers org would prefer to move on from Rodgers.....it’s just the fact he is the probably the best pure QB in the league, the wins and fans getting in the way.

I can't see the Packers trading Rogers as long as he's not demanding it.

I don’t think Rodgers and the Packers actually like each other though...it’s a weird dynamic.   Last years draft was a middle finger IMO to Rodgers.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
