Josh Norman was a dominant shutdown corner our super bowl year.... your argument is half right meaning its all wrong.

Norman and peanut for most of the season. Norman was an all pro. We had two top shelf corners on that super bowl team

You got to be able to a score with those teams too though.  

We had Bradberry.  And he held it down vs those guys as good as anyone could.   

I think the focus should be on the QB and the lines.  Not the DBs and WRs.

Sooo...because you are mad at our QB room, you are mad at the JC pick. Makes perfect sense.

 

Rhule likes Sam, if that works our we are good. If not, we go at it again. We have coaches that can teach. Why not wait until the product is actually on the field before you write it off?

if we have a shut down corner for 10 years out of this pick, it will be enormous value.

but, but, but its #8. I'd be ok with it at #15. whatever. if he makes our team better and vastly improves a weakness on the team, who gives a fug about 5 or 6 spots.

He was past his prime but still really solid. And Norman was literally the best corner in the league that year. Your argument is suspect.

Not to mention the NFL bloodlines. He’s been groomed for this moment. Now he needs to build on his potential and I don’t think we would’ve taken him that high if we didn’t think he could.

I mean, the goal is to build a winning team.   QB is most important piece to that goal.  

Rhule was forced into a position where he simply had to replace a Teddy caliber QB with the same.  He did that.  

I supported kicking the tires on Sam.  But that is all we are doing.  It likely goes how that generally goes.

It's a passing league so that means it's also a stop the pass league. If he is a shut down corner than it was a good pick. We won't know that for at least a week but more realistically until mid season. I like the pick.

Um... Josh Norman was a lockdown corner that year and thrived in our zone D scheme. Agree Finnegan and McClain were bums and led to Sanders abusing them pretty badly in the Superbowl.

And we had Ricky Manning and Mike Minter in the secondary for the 2004 Superbowl that both made big plays in the playoffs (Manning was the only reason we won that 2OT game against the Rams)
