You're largely correct but if we want a starting left tackle for the upcoming season, I think it has to be the next pick.

Their are no starters left.  The rest have to be developed.  There are no plug and play.  There were 2 maybe 3 if darrisaw is ready but everyone else has issues.

Been slowly coming to this conclusion too while digging into who's left. If we use it on a LT we're going to be passing up better prospects on defense. Time to send some more bitcoin Okung's way.

Yep.  This draft isn’t that deep with LT.  I tried to tell you guys.  Might as well finish up the defense while we can.

Going defense heavy in the draft for a second year in a row with a quarterback trying to shed bust status behind a shaky offensive line. What could go wrong right?

He busts and we have decent draft picks next year to make a move at QB and a TON of cap space to address OL. Defense will be in place.

I think there's still plenty of offensive talent, but for some strange reason that Horn makes me want to say screw it and keep going on defense lol. I love good defense, and I want us to get back to that.

I love good defense as well, but it's almost been legislated out of the league.

I hope we're able to field a balanced team. Maybe we get lucky and the o-line gels better than we're expecting. I was hoping for Sewell, but the Lions stomped all over that, lol.

I'm all for taking the bpa as the draft unfolds and plugging holes as best as we're able.

In a perfect world yes and we will be the only team seeking a quarterback who will fall into our laps. I wish it were that easy. Depends heavily on many factors but I don't think it's a scenario we want to be facing next year. Plenty of teams have found themselves a qb away in recent years only to come to the realization how difficult it is to find the right one. Let us hope Sam pans out.

    • But that would run counter to a lot of basic logic.  Frank Reich largely had an ideal QB he had worked with…and Reich world people were beating that drum loudly during the draft process that CJ Stroud fit what Frank would want/need.  And reporting also was signaling there was a split in house and Tepper wanted Young. We ended up with Young.
    • There's more to coaching than play calling, even down on the field. Madden isn't going to simulate how your WR1 had a big fight with his wife the night before the game and is stiff from sleeping on the couch. It's not going to simulate that the fight was because the QB's wife was flirting with the WR and now, because she went full on ballistic that the QB now knows about it. It's not going to simulate that questionable bucket of wings your o-line shared three hours before the game is now causing cramps and gas. It's also not going to simulate the real wear and tear of the season and how about December even the moderately good teams are about halfway spending their brain power on picking their January vacation destinations. But for a video game, it's pretty good.
    • Last Madden I played was 17, got this for like 10-12 bucks a few months ago and its a great improvement imo. I havent had to touch the sliders much.
