Draft Day 3 General Discussion

Didn't expect either pick but am happy with both. Nixon is great value in the 5th for one of the better 3-techs and while I expect that they wanted Johnson before he went two picks sooner, the selection of Taylor tells me that they're aware that they're going to need a platoon of coverage guys to cover all of the weapons in the NFC South

I will soon as you place your head in the doorway first so i can slam the door on it.

For someone who probably has zero idea who any of these players in the draft are, you are taking this way too seriously. This is special teams terrority of the draft not find a starter territory

LOOOOL... How many corners you know get drafted and never made any INTs in college? I will wait.

You could have got this guy in UFA.

I will say this.  We will find out rather quickly if this “the more darts you throw the better your chances are” approach is better than the classic “talent is at the top of the draft” mentality

I can see both sides of the coin but damn we left a lot of supposed talent on the table early on.   Is our roster that bad?

Sam is going to have a lot of talent around hi question is will he be protected.

Pass Deflections and Coverage are more important than INTs. Usually the less INTs you have is because you are covering your guy well and QBs aren't throwing your way that often. The average fan should know this. Not surprising the usual suspects do not.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
